They would have to ship you guys a bad contract in return.

Clarkson in a good system wouldn't be so bad.

Both top pairing (Petry and Ference) in Edmonton are in NHL top 10 in give aways. Maybe you can still gift them Phaneuf instead? lol
- SPIDEROCKSTAR

As much a tit Phaneuf is, he still holds some value.

Not right now with that contract. Leafs would have to retain a pretty decent portion if they hope to get a better return.

My other pipe dream...

With Dion being a poor man's Weber, and by poor man I mean Oilhab's depiction of me living in a tent by the SkyDome, not the actual me... I'd be willing to clean house and send him along with whatever Nashville wants (Reimer, Franson, Kadri, Gardiner, anything) to pry Shea alone and give HIM the C.

So you get Weber and move forward with Bernier and Kessel. Not sure that's the way to go.

More positions to be filled by the kids in the system plus cap space to also move forward.

Only works if the kids in the system are developed properly into NHLers. Risky proposition. Other than Kadri, any of these "kids" been working out?

He looks like the guy who is just looking for fights and hits right now, he needs to focus on his high shots, fluke goals and defend with his stick instead. He gets tire easily trying to push people around.

No.

Remember those days when the Leafs and Habs were the powerhouses of the NHL? I don't.

I wish they were again.

As much as the 86 cup was a surprise, the team made it to the finals again 2 years later and won it again in 1993. Not a dynasty by any stretch but pretty decent.

Hell, even as a Leafer I enjoyed your run with Halak. I also cheered for OTT, EDM, VAN, and CGY when they all made it to the finals.

Pretty pathetic how diluted it is when you root for the rivals.
