Clarkson...
- TouenneTiiTree

Now you're comparing Vanek and Clarkson? Oh boy. Ok, I'll accept Moulson as the comparison, because you're getting worse.

actually it makes a lot

if her family's there, kids' grandparents, she likes the place and they can make as much money living in her hometown as in any of those other cities why not?

- basementfloor

If you ahve multiple millions of dollars... I doubt distance is an issue.

If I'd be Vanek, I'd go for a club on the west coast.

No, you didn't do that. However, you certainly compared the value of one to the other.

Clarkson would never be on the first line even during a bad line change

They play different games though. I am most impressed with Vanek's playmaking skills and strength. Didn't realize he had those qualities.

so basically, you'd pass on 6 years of production because the 7th year might suck?
- DoubleDown

No.

Remember Gomez ?

You know... long big contract ... not saying Vanek is Gomez. Just not in love with a 8year 7/8M a year contract.

Moulson would be a cheaper option and a welcomed addition.

Also, not sure how Patches would react seeing a player getting 7/8 a year when he only gets like 4,5M

I'm quite sure MB and the Habs have a salary structure with Price being on top...I'm probably wrong here. ( PK might get more than Price).

IAnyways... all of this speculating is BS. Vanek will not be a Habs next season.

Cheaper option as what? They don't play the same way.

i think he wouldn't give a poop because he signed his contract at 22 while Vanek is 30. i understand your point but you make it seem like Moulson will cost $3 million or something. you're still talking about a big contract to a 30-year-old forward that comes with risk. i'll take the riskier contract that comes with higher potential rewards.

Vanek will be traded to the team he wants to sign with, for a draft pick.

That is all.

They play the wing and both would play on our first line.

They also score goals.

Different styles maybe.. but at the end of the day, both players would provide offense and size to the Habs.
