That's because you're dumb.
- hscesq

No.

As much as I like Vanek, his 7M a year won't look good when he's 37 and playing like Kovalev.... 1 game out of 4

that part is tough to wrap your head around.
i mean, i get that she's from Minnesota. but it's Minnesota. can't imagine this woman is like "look i know we have the option to spend half the year in any of a number of wonderful cities for the next 7 years, but im sorry, i just... i MUST live in Minnestoa. i have to be here ALL the time."

I would like the habs to go after Moulson if/when they can't resign Vanek...

True Vanek > Moulson...but Moulson will cost less for 80-90% of the production.

- TouenneTiiTree

Vanek will come in around $7-$8 million. a big chunk. but Moulson is still coming in at 5 or more. guy is a first line winger on the open market. he's getting paid.
as for a comparison of the 2 players, please. Vanek is a far more complete player. he scores, he sets up, he makes his teammates better. i still think there's virtually no chance he signs here, but i take Vanek at 7/49 over Moulson at 6/30 or whatever. Bergevin should throw the kitchen sink at this guy, and i think he will.

You can approach it like Nonis (sp?) and only worry about year 1 and 2...how did that turn out so far?

It's the market right now.

If MB doesn't go there habs will stagnate. There is absolutely noting in the system that could replace a Vanek.

actually it makes a lot

if her family's there, kids' grandparents, she likes the place and they can make as much money living in her hometown as in any of those other cities why not?

How many young children do they have? I struggled with this with my partner after the birth of our first child. She wanted to be around her mom.

Did I compare the two? I only said that Moulson will get you 80-90% of the production at a lower cost....

I agree with what you say...but there's not guarantee Vanek would accept an offer...and it might be more than $8M too...

so basically, you'd pass on 6 years of production because the 7th year might suck?
