22. Montreal
Joshua Ho-Sang, C/RW, Windsor (OHL)

Another undersized (5-11, 175), highly competitive player with a really good skill set.

Based on last year guess they'll go with him instead :

26.SJS
Alexis Vanier, D, Baie-Comeau (QMJHL)

Fits the Sharks mold; excellent size (6-4.5, 215) and overall skill to develop nicely.

Big blow for the NCAA...

Maybe if they actually took the 'student' part of 'student-athlete' seriously, they could've avoided this whole mess...

A court ruling that football players are considered employees and have the right to unionize...

c'est pas mal drole, meme si on ne sait pas trop ou ils vont avec ca. Le grand barbu, Denis, me fait trop rire...il est tellement cave, et intransigeant.

Seriously... although I don't think this is the path I would like them to take, you know you can't leave it up to the Universities and the NCAA to go ahead with meaningful reform...so that leaves us with this course of action...

Scholarships in exchange for services on the football field...and if performance on the field slips, withdrawal of scholarship...sort of eliminates the whole "student-athlete" concept, leaving only the "athlete"...

Of course they'll (NCAA and Universities) appeal

In my experience, the union negotiates a contract and perhaps gets you more money (though not really in my case), but I have yet to see a union actually "help" anybody with anything else. The company I am with now until April 1st anyhow is unionized.

Any time my wife has gone to the union about anything their response has always been "sorry nothing we can do to help you there"

I fail to see any bang for our buck in paying union dues for no service, and besides, the unions and the companies are all in bed with one another and anybody who doesn't realize that is just fooling themselves.

The union here makes sure the blue collar workers can keep playing cards on their work hours.

problem is they have the unfair advantage to not have any "free time" for a part time job like others students, I dont think they should make crazy money but they should be given the equivalant to what a student makes at a part time job
