I understand it's gotta be rough having your heart & soul say he wants out after 14+ yrs or whatever it's been but the guy was a hero for your team for all that time, made so much out of nothing. This small blip at the end if his career can't spoil all those great memories from the past, right? |

I'd rather see Haggerty tonight than Dorsett, give him another day to recover from the flu |

I really have no idea what to expect from Haggerty if he actually got a chance, very weird situation |

They need to get MSL and Stepan on an IV, shoot them up with all kinds of fluids, and put a couple of garbage pails on the bench in case they don't feel well.
On Haggerty, it's hard to really expect much from him. I understand why the Rangers did what they did, but at this time of year, I would rather play the proven commodities, than play a kid that has never played professional hockey before, which has a much higher chances of being a miss rather than a hit.

during the last couple of weeks, before the Rangers got going again, I saw many "we need to buy out Nash" tweets and actually a few "Anisimov straight up better than Nash" tweets |

It has to be pretty miserable to be a Devils fan right now. They need to commit to a rebuild, rather than struggling to be average. |

Lou Lamoriello on with Mike Francesa in 2012 said no team should ever have to rebuild, and thats a paraphrase. He will leave before tearing that thing down and rebuilding it. |

they are so lucky they were granted the 30th pick in the draft this year, Lou is still picking Bettman's pubic hair out of his teeth after arranging that one. |

What I don't understand is why the fack did he sign that last contract if he wanted out so bad? Makes no sense. Also, after signing it why the hell would he bail a year early? I honestly don't blame Tampa fans for being disgruntled. You're bringing up all of these great memories he had with the team but for me that would make it all the more reason to at least finish his contract out. Or at the very least finish the season with the team playing as well as it has been this way he could be traded at the draft and Yzerman and the team itself could get a decent return. |

Just a point. By signing the last contract with them, rather than leaving via as a free agent, he actually allowed Tampa to acquire some pretty significant assets for him. Whether he was right to do what he did, has been debated to death on these boards, and really not worth debating again. But, Yzerman did actually land a very good return for him. Callahan, a second this year (which has the potential to be a 1st), and a 1st in a load drafted next year is a real good return, IMO. And, if he just left via UFA, they wouldn't have gotten any of those things.

Cause he went to the Rangers it's different. This isn't the best example but, Atlanta was willing to make Kovalchuk on of the highest paid players in the league and he said no. He forced Atlanta to trade him. Nobody, but us because we had to watch him face the Rangers, said jack poop. If MSL forced his hand to Montreal he'd be a beloved hockey figure because he would be willing to face the pressure of trying to win in a hockey epicenter. |

The return was significant but you have to think it was that or Yzerman made him at least finish the season. Though what you said in the bolded sentence is true that's not why he signed the contract. I'm confused to why he did when at the time he wanted out supposedly? I love MSL as a player, always did. I think the trade worked out well for you guys. He'll start scoring eventually and you have him for another yr. But if I were a Tampa fan I'd wipe my a$$ with my MSL jersey. Real shatty way to leave a team especially one you've been with your whole career IMO. |

Stepan, St. Louis both expected to play v Coyotes. No emergency recall of JT Miller for Rangers. |

We'll see if you stay true to your word and wipe your ass with your Tavares jersey after he demands a trade. |

This is crazy to say, but Rangers can't afford to have Stepan out of the line up. I know he has the flu, but that line and himself are going good right now. |
