Well, it can be looked at that way. NMCs are part of the sport.

But he was also looking for a place where he fit. He could've taken a short deal, saw what else was out there for him, been a mercenary.

I choose to look at it as he wanted to find stability to formulate his second career, as a support player. I could be wrong, but that's how I look at it.

As I recall, didn't he approach the Flyers about signing here? I agree, it is kind of neat that players want to be here, even if it hasn't been an ideal fit thus far.

Than don't believe me but that's what was said when he signed here.

X2

No doubt, it speaks volumes about what players around the league think of this OrganIzation and the fans!

Ok I wont.

From what I have read Montreal offered5 years @ 5 million a year, and Dallas offered 4.75

It was the extra year that put Philly over the top from what I have read and heard.

So there ya go.

We paid the most money and we were the only team to offer a NMC. That isn't exactly a hard choice.
- FlyersSteve118

Not sure how anyone can know what other offers Lecavalier had from other teams.

Edit: Leight!

I know what you're saying. I know why you're saying it. I understand it completely. If I were a better man, I'd say it.

But I cannot say it. I simply cannot. That franchise, from Lamoriello on down, can absolutely go eff themselves.

try "go Jagr!". It doesn't feel as strange.

Bad feeling about today.
The style of game StL plays will be very tough for the Flyers.
But I eagerly hope they prove me wrong.
Chicago had obvious weakness with their third D pair.
Looking at St. Louis it's hard to see any real weaknesses.
Very solid team top to bottom.

Thanks for the LF link TM.

The one thing we can say with 100% certainty is Meszaros won't become the billionth player to leave Philadelphia and win a Stanley Cup.

You can take that to the bank. If anyone thinks differently I will give them 1000 to 1 odds on it happening.

Definitely the biggest story line for the flyers right now

I didn't say most per year. I said the most money altogether. A few teams offered 5mil for 2 years.

Edit: I'm pretty sure. Might not have been 5m but it was more than the flyers 4.5

True

I guess I won't be surprised or shocked if they find a way to win. Impressed though, yes.

Neither would I. But if they do get beat, it's going to depend then on how they play. If they compete and skate hard, and just get beaten by a better team, then I'm okay with that. This is a good measuring stick game.

This tough home stretch has already been much more successful than I was expecting. I'm just hoping for a good game today.

Really excited for this game today. This is a huge test for this team.

A loss today won't be detrimental. STL is the cream of the crop.

That being said, if they win today....

According to this the Flyers have the hardest schedule in the eastern conference for the rest of the year.
