I'm with you. All I'm asking for is fairly serious consideration.
I'm not an idiot- if Chiefs ends up a runner up for the Jack Adams behind Roy's winning, I'm not gonna say it was robbery. Roy has done something special over there in Colorado too, just like Berube has here.
Same thing with Giroux. Giroux or Crosby for the Hart is a hilarious example of a wealth of riches. A strong case can be made for either of them, but there's no wrong choice. And for that reason, nobody really has any right to complain, Pen fan or Flyer fan, if both players are nominated as finalists. - Giroux_Is_God

I wonder if Eakins gave the team an earful about throwing things on the bench after the game |

Obviously taking its toll on everyone, but a coach has to at least appear stable.

I know. I'd be more concerned about the oilers effort. Last game against your major rival and they give that effort? This should be a team working to improve for next season. These final games should mean something to them.
They need a major shakeup and culture change |

Yeah its ugly, so many mistakes have been made by that franchise in recent years. Players like RNH and Yakupov were rushed to the NHL before they were ready which only hurt both their development and the team. Also by the time they were drafting Yakupov, they might have been better off trading the pick down to fill more holes on their roster. Their D is a mess and they lack grit and experience amongst their forwards.
Considering the youth and makeup of their roster, they probably should have never hired a coach with no NHL head coaching experience. A Terry Murray type of veteran coach would have been a much better choice to teach these kids not only how to play at the NHL level on the ice, but also how to handle themselves off the ice as well.
People forget that in 1984, when the Flyers brought in rookie coach Mike Keenan, to coach the youngest team in the NHL, he at least had respected veterans like Mark Howe and Brad Marsh to lean on and set an example for the kids. Edmonton just doesn't have those types of players on their roster and it hurts. While I know it's often difficult to attract FAs to come to Edmonton, they may have been better off overpaying to land one or two just to mentor these kids.
Sadly, while Eakins pretty much has to go, making yet another coaching change is not really going to fix anything overnight. The Oilers have some very talented players, but I still think the mix is a mess and it's going to be a while before they can challenge for a playoff spot.

Kevin Lowe and the Oilers' front office are forming a task force.
