Remember all the people who made fun of Giroux for not having a goal and saying the Flyers would make the playoffs?

i have no clue. never heard of him until jsaq's post. don't care either. it bothers me though when ANYONE calls an NHL goalie horrible. you don't get that far in that position if you're horrible. you just don't.

Yep.

There's a long list. Like I said the other week or so. There is an element that criticized this team from the towel girl to the Owner. Everything was a problem. There was significant conversation from many, that the GM should be fired. For what? There was a conversation that led to my HB vacation where I was debating that the team had a bright future, and I was told that the GM is inept and this team is clearly heading in the wrong direction. Really?

anyone worried about how they will play without Downie?

it cuts down the effectiveness of the 4th line when raffl is moved up.

maybe not a huge deal, but it might be

And just think, when they win the cup they will have omelettes on their suits, and chicken coops in their living rooms!

Nope not at all. Raffl deserves top 9 minutes based on his play, and Mcginn will offer just as much offense as Downie, without being a mindless penalty waiting to happen.

Also gets Read on to the PP. Another positive.

I think we may see VDV on the 4th line or maybe McGinn on the third line. If they use McGinn, they can alternate between using Raffl and McGinn on the third line depending on situation and matchup.

How do we know that McGinn will be recalled? And I don't think that McGinn is anywhere near as good offensively as Downie is.

It's just funny that everything he said ended up being wrong.

1. Giroux rebounded and became a top 5 center in the league
2. Defenseman pieced things together and have gotten a lot better
3. Berube has done a fantastic job
4. Homer's moves of signing Raffl and trading for Mac look real good.

I think its either McGinn or VDV. It just depends on what they want to do with Raffl.

The Flyers have made it pretty obvious they don't want McGinn on the 4th line.

he seems to be a big steve mason fan

ryan lambert ‏@twolinepass Jan 25
to summarize: steve mason is terrible and so is his contract and there's never going to be a point at which i was wrong about either fact.

not really, for the most part downie's been disappointing in his stint here.

the third line will be fine I believe, but it hurts the fourth line and their depth

with Raffl and Downie they roll 4 lines better

Flyers are a better team with Downie healthy and in the lineup. Hopefully he's okay. Need all hands on deck for a playoff run.

Exactly, I love when people, I've done it, call any professional athlete terrible or say they suck. Really they suck, funny they are in the NHL or whatever league, that pretty much means they don't suck.

In his limited time, McGinn has shown to be a good board player. I think he would work well with Read and Couts.

Late in close games, they like to go to 3 lines anyway. In those circumstances they can just move Raffl up to that line.

I wouldn't mind seeing McGinn on the 2nd PP unit either. That Unit really lacks an identity. Schenn is alright in front of the net, but I'd like to see him handling the puck a little more than just being a big body.
