Guess what? The Flyers just took it to the NHL's best team for 20 minutes.

start the 3rd with the entire top line in the box

at least they'll be rested and G's minutes held under that magic min per game #?

Not really sold on his offensive game as of yet, but Raffl's speed is really evident on that 3rd line. Nice to see.

He's a rookie coming from a lower tier of European Hockey. He's had a solid year all around including offensively.

These calls are just so tick tacky

I didn't see the hook, but I didn't exactly look for one either. I'd like to see a replay.

There are 3 teams on the ice. Don't forget about the THIRD TEAM!

Hopefully, that penalty kill to start the third is humongous beeg.

This is the NHL anybody can take it to another team for 20 mins, the true test is getting those 2 points.

- Yosimar89

Agreed -- they weren't quite as good in the first, were better in the second.

As Magic Johnson would say, this third period is "Winning Time," and let's just see if the boys are up to closing this bad boy out

BUT: I have faith

Absolutely. They matched them in the physical game. And they didn't give the Blues anything offensively in that period.

I understand that, and don't really have an issue with that, but the opposite doesn't have to be true where we look for the worst in guys who aren't as good
- AllInForFlyers

hey look, everyone knows that flyers players get called for stuff other players don't get called for. they still have the "dirtiest team" rep from 1975 to contend with......i only hope i live long enough to see a fairly officiated season or two

I think you need to look at players assessing their pros and cons and whether or not they're helping the team.

Giroux could take an undisciplined penalty every game, but he will still be helping the team because of his overall play.

Downie doesn't have that luxury and he's been a repeat offender. Whens the last time we saw G take 4 minors?

I guess Giroux is making up for Downie's stupid penalities today.

I do that a lot -- look at the first period.

Mark Streit has been nothing but solid for this team for two-plus months, and for all but a handful of games this season. Of 69 games, he's been below the bar for maybe five or six.

Does that get the guy any slack FOR EVEN A DAMN SHIFT in the first period?

Some of you were ready to pack his poop and throw it -- and him -- off the Walt Whitman...in the first period!

You're entitled to that opinion, but no Coach is infallible.

He was brutal at the start of the year, and has been much better after that. He scares me on the PP, because he seems prone to giving the other team breaks going the other way, but that's who he is. High risk/high reward.

Mark Streit was written off by some before the Season even got started. He has been nothing but solid for this team. And was a quality acquisition by the GM.

Streit was never brutal at any point. He's not prone to giving the other team breaks the other way. It's happened a couple of times all Season.
