JVR wouldn't have fanned on that shot by Streit.

Neither would Patrick Sharp

he was looking up ice, pretending not to see Downie ... but he knew what he was doing.

Its getting to the point where someone on the Flyers just needs to take a run at another player. Just so they know we have that little bit of crazy left.

Its amazing when you compare the amount of illegal hits on Flyers compared to the amount of illegal hits the Flyers have given over the last 2 years.

Mike Richards would've covered both guys on that shorthanded rush, then took the puck down and scored himself.

Always wondered why any Hockey player, who is a Human being, should be described as a waste of oxygen simply because the player is not liked.

Somebody's stretching after the kind of baffling Downie jokes. I'm still not sure what was up with the pseudo-Don Cherry bit, or why Downie's a good target for mockery because he got hurt.

It's ok, I understand, I often just throw posts out there to see what works when I'm feeling uninspired.

I would like to test the Blues composure here as a team. Rinaldo has drawn one, needs to get under the skin of St. Louis a bit more along with Hartnell.

Hall needs to do the same.

Course he wouldn't have

Just cause it was bouncing, he would have batted it out of the air

Easy play unless you suck like the Flyers

That hit in Downie was very borderline

The blues guy popped with his shoulder blind side
Downie wasn't looking, and shares responsibility, but the hit wasn't clean imo

- Marc D

Looked more like downie just ran into the Blue, tbh

Hartnell had a strong first period. Drew two penalties.

I think a guy like Backes specializes in that department. I trust his composure more than Rinaldos

Did you get the impression I was trashing him?

Calm down there.

One replay showed him pop his head with shoulder

Deliberate I think

Hard to tell, I doubt he gets suspended but it was questionable.

Nothing stopping the Flyers from targeting him the rest of the game.

It'd be nice -- there's some things they can do.

The Blues are good, but they can't cover everything. The Flyers PP, at least the first unit, is good because it's balanced.

Voracek just has to be ready to fire that thing, because they're going to shade to Giroux's side, like every team does. But Voracek just has to not think twice and fire it.

Carlyle is a Stanley Cup winning Coach. I think he knows what he is doing systems wise.

For people in the area, Raffl is going to be at Carl's Cards in Havertown next weekend.

Glad it's only 1 to nothing after the first. Hopefully fewer penalties are called and the Flyers can get back into the game, establish their forecheck, etc.
