I think he signs somewhere around 4 year/19mil. I'd be scared to let him get more than that with the pay raise coming to Macarthur and Ryan among others. I wouldn't be shocked if he gets signed and they flip Bobby Ryan for a defenseman. I hope they get him relatively cheap, keep our top 6 intact but replacing Michalek with Zbad on the Spezza line. As for bottom six, get rid of greening and let the Lazars, pageaus, grants, stones all fight for ice time.

Good luck with that! Bob Murray tried to get one of Methot, Wiercioch, or Ceci in the Ryan trade and Brian Murray said no and gave the Ducks Ottawa's first rounder instead. BTW, I hope the Sens play out the string with the same pessimism that Yost has.  |

Pretty sure Eugene has made it well known that at least 1 round of playoff hockey is needed to reach the break even mark for the team......
There a really good chance that the internal budget for the Sens will be the cap floor next season...

Does this hamstring the team for signing Ryan, Mac and whoever else is coming up? Not in respect of the cap, but maybe for this internal fudging budget.
I still think if it's a question of signing Ryan or Hemsky, we use that money on Ryan.
