Just absolutely tenacious on the puck and around the net. Never quits on a play. Flyers really have a great group of young forwards. If Voracek ever busts out to what his skill level equals, look out. Not to mention the beast that Couturier is going to be.
- MJL

If Giroux wasn't playing out of his mind, Couturier would be their best overall player since the break.

He's just absolutely banging people around now -- I didn't think he had than kind of meanness in him, but I think he does. He is hitting guys HARD right now.

i agree about his skill set, which is why that wrister from the top of the circle in stride that beat thomas low stick side last night shocked the hell out of me. i was amazed he even attempted the shot. that it went in, too?
- hammarby31

I thought Thomas flat out sucked last night.

He deserves the Hart, but I think we've established how good of a regular season player he is.

Lets see him dominate the playoffs and carry his team without getting all pissy

its absolutely ridiculous. giroux, a top 10 playmaking center.

coots, who just for comparisons sake, becomes a player between patrice bergeron and jordan staal. (could be more, could be less, but right now thats not a bad starting point. id argue hes already surpassed staal in a lot of areas, but is a little behind bergeron.)

brayden schenn, who should be a 25 goal, 60 point guy should you find a position and let him own it.

simmonds, as discussed.

voracek, who at worst is a 25 goal winger with playmaking ability.

read.

thats 6 right there. all young and still with room to improve. for the most part, extremely cap friendly as well.

im still of the mind the flyers need one more piece on the back end. even if its not a top level guy, just someone who brings a more mobile skill set to the back end. locking up mcdonald will be big.

phew. long story short, i wish you guys still had richie and carts

Giroux is the heart and the offensive catalyst of the team. But Couturier is the glue that holds it all together. And his offense is starting to develop. As least as far as playmaking is concerned. He has 11 assists in the last 20 games.

i think just for a purely scientific experiment, you should trade him to the pens. i want to see if he could realistically push 50 playing with crosby and malkin.

Definitely need one more piece on the back end. And I have full faith that Holmgren will get it done.

i haven't watched the replay yet, so i can't give an opinion for the whole game. however, he looked bad, imho, on both the simmonds goal as well as raffl's.

It's been a few years, so it's hard to project how they would have built around them, what other moves they could've made, would've made.

It might not have been a nightmare -- actually, there's a few ways that it probably would've been fine.

But as awkward as the Flyers can appear in-game, from time to time...it's clear that their future, their window...it might be opening pretty wide, depending on how Mason responds to playoff hockey, should the Flyers make it.

If Sean Couturier truly enters Beast Mode...the window might be WIDE EFFING OPEN.
