The other windmill I've been tilting at.....
Do you consider Wayne Simmonds to be a top 6 forward?
I say that he is.
I've had others say that he's a high end 3rd liner, which makes me want to know what team has 3rd liners that are 2 time 20 goal scorers. - johndewar
100% definitely a top six forward. |

He's borderline top line IMO. If the Flyers had a playmaking/sniping LW, Simmer would be playing with Giroux.
They use Hartnell as the grinder on that line because Jake is a RW. |

Why? Should we forget all the success they had from 72 on? I see no problem with celebrating the past. - twotoekenn
Point is how can you blame writers for referencing that era, and referring to the Flyers as a hard nosed team, physical, even slightly (gasp) dirty type of team when the organization just erected a bronze statue of the man who started it all 45 years ago. |

Another stellar game by Mason. Hope they get some good rest for Saturday's game
Any reasoning behind Thomas' mask changes? - Streit2ThePoint
The play by play guys from Dallas said the neck protector was hitting his ears with the way it was attached to the helmet.
He didn't have the neck guard on the black helmet. |

The statue is for a hall of fame coach. I don't have any issue with being categorized as hard nosed or physical, its the dirty part that bugs me. |

I don't even mind the "dirty" part. The everlasting sanctimonious attitude from purists toward the bullies is way worn out, though. It's time to get over it, sorry they "ruined" Montreal's perfect version of the sport. |

Simmonds is putting up better numbers than Bobby Ryan this year. And it could be argued that Matt Read could easily be a top 6 winger as well. We have 4 top 3 guys and 8 top 6 guys on this team imo. But that is never a bad problem to have. |

Should be a great game tonight ... I'm confused as to who to root for.

I feel like whoever wins this game tonight is the team we DO NOT want to play in the first round. |

The laziness of the national hockey media, though, is far worse than anything that Panotch pulls.
Seriously, the next national analyst that lazily mentions goaltending as an issue will drive me nuts. - johndewar
National analysts, analyze from afar. There's no way one person can be intune with everything going on with every team, and every game. That's why I chuckle when what some far off columnist writes about the Flyers is referenced when talking about the team and their prospects. When is the last time they actually watched a Flyers game? But what they say is taken as gospel. |

Hes a RW. He would need to replace Jake on the top line. |

Southern thing. My wife, from NC, use to say it all the time. Also says not never. I argue that not never means sometimes or at least once.

They could do their due diligence and speak with media members, fans or players from that organization before drawing conclusions and voicing incorrect statements on national websites or on national TV. You know, thats what a legitimate journalist would do. |

Easier to not research anything and use tired and old rhetoric as a replacement for research.
