More and more I think they will keep this years pick, and hope they do better next year... Problem is, even if they do get better, lets say instead of 4th overall pick they end up with 15th overall pick, I think the quality of the player will be the same.

Thats the issue. Plus, what if they win the lottery next season? That would be such a Islanders thing to do.

It would be awesome to have Hagg, Vasiliev and Ghost all start the season with the Phantoms next year.

I can't believe Duke is going to lose to Mercer

Edit: If they can make a free throw

So assuming we stay in 2nd or at worst drop to third. Who do we want to play? I say Columbus, the fiance says Rangers...
- FlyersGrace

I think the Columbus-Flyers series would be a very exciting series. Not only because Columbus fianlly makes the playoffs but because of Mason vs Columbus and Bob vs Flyers. And the ability of each team that knows the other goalies weaknesses is just bound to be high scoring.

I don't think the teams knowing each goalie will be that big of a deal. A scout can tell you where a goalie is weak. I can tell you that Bob will, sometimes, go down too low and too early leaving the top of the net open.

Game was played in Raleigh too. It was like a home game for Duke. Unbelievable.

Any NHL team scouts opposition goaltenders, and knows the weaknesses for every goalie they play against. That's not going to lead to a high scoring series one way or the other. How the teams play defensively is what would determine that. And also how well the goaltenders play. Every team that plays the Flyers know what the tendiencies are, and where to shoot and how to attack Mason.

I hope it's characters like the Wasp, Goliath, or Quicksilver.

Zzzzzzzz.

Funny, but I never thought of Thor or Iron Man nearly as interesting as Spiderman and X-men... so the fact they can make those guys interesting to me is gold.

JJ Abrams is co writing it. Should be in good hands. Lucus wrote a basic theme to follow, but its far from written.

I dont think the book writers are up to penning a movie. As much as I love Timmothy Zahn, Aaron Aliston, et al I just dont see movie writing material there.

please JJ Abrams is a hack

Absolutely not. Korthak of Stalbrand is fully written, although, once my baby girl gives me an hour or more of uninterrupted peace, I plan of fleshing it out quite a bit. Bit it is written as a coherent, blood-filled 11-page short story.

Shooting against a goalie every day for 2 years will teach you so much more then watching a video and reading a report ever will. Not just watching what moves beat him that other plays do, but knowing what moves YOU do that he cant beat....

The only thing that off-sets that a bit is the Goalie has faced your moves a lot too, but IMO its easier for all the forwards to remember goalie weakness then it is for goalie to remember forwards weaknesses.

I think Washington is the team I'd like the most. Columbus and the Rangers would both be very frustrating. But if I had to choose, I'd probably take the Rangers, even with our fits against them. I just see Columbus as a very hard out.

I just don't think Players have much time to think about where they're shooting very often. I could see it helping in the shootout, but not during the course of the game.
