From my experience most intelligent contractors will throw out bids that significantly lower than their competition. Same goes with ones that are way high. If you have a good relationship with them, they may tell you that you are way low/high and give you a chance to take another look at your bid.

It's not always the low bidder that gets the job. Key is "Qualified" low bidder.
