Well look at it this way, the Flyers are due to light him up!
Actually with all kidding aside, if they get some traffic in front and screen him effectively they will score. No goalie is going to stop what he can't see. - BiggE
Didn't we beat him 2-1 early in the year? he gave up 2 early ones and got hurt on the second one. Then Markstrom came in and shut the door. Still saddled with the loss.
OT: Is there another tender in the history of the game that skates off the ice faster than Thomas after an OT or shoot out winner scored against him? I always found that strange.. like he was saying get me the F out of here. |

I can't remember disliking a goalie as much as I dislike him since perhaps Billy Smith. I just hate the way he looks and plays goal. His new hats are a disgrace to the position. Even that Swiss woman netminder has foregone the helmet/mask combo and joined this century. - wilsonecho91
Five goalies I've always hated
1. Billy Smith
cheap shot, slasher extraordinaire
2. Chico Resch
yeah I know he played here for a short time, but he just constantly whines and rips on the Flyers ad nauseum
3. Marty Brodeur
Cause he beats us, again and again, I will throw a party when this SOB retires!!!
4. Dominic Hasek
Great goalie for sure, but good lord did he constantly whine to the refs. Such a baby!
5. Tom Barasso
Just an all around nasty person. Many of his own teammates never liked him as well.

On a side note, as conservative as Thomas is, he must love playing in Texas. |

I would love to see them chase Thomas after he allows multiple goals while flopping around. |

You're a tender too. I have watched a lot of goalies in my time, and I have never seen that at any level.. he takes off like he is doing a Pavel Bure impression and I just wait for him to crach head first into the boards! |

i noticed this the first time i saw him lose a SO. it was like watching a cartoon with his feet peddling in the air, arms cocked back to give him leverage. hilarious. i've seen a lot of goalies hustle off the ice after losing the SO, but none like him.
speaking of SO's. i went 4 for 4 last night and got us a win. made up for a hideous goal i gave up late in the 3rd period that temporarily gave the other team the lead. |

Do people just do calculations by hand with the game log to get these "best scorer since November" style stats? I don't get it! |

Haha good analogy. Nice on the shoot out.
Well done on the Shoot out..
In our league there are no SO's unless it's a playoff game and it comes after a 4 on 4 OT period. (if you can believe that a playoff game could end that way).. Reg season gmaes end in a tie after regulation due to ice time restrictions. Up in Kanida, ice time is costly and comes at a premium even though we have tons of rinks. |

Berube took over on the 4th game of the season, so I gave him 10 games to get his system running with the team, and everyone on board.
Since November 9th.

Can I ask why this is such a big deal? Because he was smart enough to figure out a pattern on his equipment makes his pads look smaller and throws of the shooters... Seems like you should be giving him congrats for being clever....
As a matter of fact, if it was me, not only would I paint the top black, but I would paint a "crease" blue L on each side so when the pads are together it STILL looks like they are open... |

Nice work. If the Flyers keep playing this way, no one will want to face them in the playoffs. |

Its a bit bushleague. It would be like a pitcher wearing a very colorful glove to distract the hitter. |

oh god, you should read the posts on a FB goalie gear group i belong to...he gets torched there daily because of his "set up" especially his hideous hats with goofy "danglers". they hate him. hate. him.
speaking of billy smith...you like this pic we took from the 83-84 season? i just found it the other day. i still hate him and his stupid koho helmet and beaked out cooper hm30 cage with no jaw pad and chin cup.

I don't understand the illusion. It just looks like the black part of his pads are actually his pants. How would this affect a shooter? If the shooter shoots it into his pants it's a save. |
