if the Flyers win the Cup and he doesn't shave until then, I hope the HOF asks for his beard so they can put it on display.

They lit him up when he was with Florida earlier in the year. He also left that game with an injury iirc. Funny thing how Thomas isn't as effective without the Bruins playing in front of him.

he played well in the 2nd game though, winning again, iirc. dallas is a good team. flyers will need to be ready, but i'd really like to see them shred him to pieces. flyers have to be ready though. he's wearing his 392nd set of pads this season, now with the thigh rise colored black, so it blends into his pants and makes the 5 hole look bigger than it is.

I can't remember disliking a goalie as much as I dislike him since perhaps Billy Smith. I just hate the way he looks and plays goal. His new hats are a disgrace to the position. Even that Swiss woman netminder has foregone the helmet/mask combo and joined this century.

what makes it special is Toews lack of retaliation. 9 times out of 10, that guy is getting back up and a scrum ensues. Here it's nothing but pure defeat.

I despised Hasek. Those Sabre teams killed us. And Hasek... You would think you had him beat. His stick would be behind the net, he would be on his back on the far side of the net, and you could shoot high to the other corner, and he would still get a pad on the damn thing...... HASEK

I expect a good game tonight, and I think the Flyers get some payback against Dallas with a big win! Here are my keys to a Flyers victory:

1. As Bill always notes, KEEP YOUR FEET MOVING, the Stars are a speedy team, no doubt, but if the Flyers keep their skates going they can skate with anyone. They proved it against Chicago

2. Keep the gaps short. One way to compensate for a lack of footspeed is to make short accurate passes from the D up to the forwards. No one on the planet can skater faster than a crisply passed puck.

3. Aggressively clear the front of the net and let Mason see the puck. The way Mase has played this year, its safe to say that if he sees it, he's most likely gonna stop it. And this leads me to my next key...

4. Control your rebounds Steve. Don't give up any fat second shots, control the puck and continue to do your usual great job in moving the puck as well.

5. Get Giroux mad! This always seems to do the trick! All kidding aside, Giroux is playing unbelievable hockey right now and with the Flyers having last change, the matchups should favor the boys in orange and black.

GO FLYERS!!

Actually with all kidding aside, if they get some traffic in front and screen him effectively they will score. No goalie is going to stop what he can't see.

oh god, you should read the posts on a FB goalie gear group i belong to...he gets torched there daily because of his "set up" especially his hideous hats with goofy "danglers". they hate him. hate. him.

speaking of billy smith...you like this pic we took from the 83-84 season? i just found it the other day. i still hate him and his stupid koho helmet and beaked out cooper hm30 cage with no jaw pad and chin cup.

I don't hate thomas at all, guy paid his dues and kept trying till he got his chance. He and hasek play that crazy unorthodox style thats more about athleticism than positioning and I think it is pretty entertaining to watch.
