i remember being happy when they brought scuderi back. it looks awful now. just slow and does nothing.

I thought the Stars were strong defensively as a team tonight. Really thought that Thomas sucked tonight, and was the biggest reason why the Stars lost the game. Thought they outplayed the Flyers tonight.

Flyers really outplayed them in the first period. I thought the Flyers ended up with more A+ quality chances.

In the end, the goaltending was the real difference. Mason was a stud and Thomas didn't come up with any big saves. The Simmonds goal was a real tough one.

I wanted the Flyers to sign him. I'm happy they didn't.

Having him may prevent the Pens from re-signing Niskanen.

Kid has wheels and determination, tenacity, and some skill mixed in. I remember back in the Pre Season when I stated that Raffl was an NHL player, and in my opinion had shown enough to make the team. Some chose to laugh at that. He who laughs last, laughs best!

i at least wanted a game or two at the end for chemistry purposes. there is an outside chance for letang as well. the pens d is awful right now. they couldnt get it out of their own zone if they were the only ones out there.

"Tough" as in "awful." No way an NHL goalie should give that one up.

I've seen Flyers fans want to set our goalies on fire for double-deflections through four guys. I can't even imagine if Mason gave up something like that

It was a bad one. Emery's against Chicago was a bad one too.

He hit somebody last night so effing hard -- he's just a man out there. If he had slightly better hands, he'd be borderline unstoppable

I admit I wasn't a Raffl guy at first ... but after watching him closely the last month I realize how hard of a worker he is, and how good he might become.

i did not think raffl would be nhl material. he proves me wrong nightly. fine by me.

I would love to see the Flyers match-up with the Pens again in the playoffs. It is always must see TV.

I'm just gonna go head and say it.

The mentality of "hate to say I told you so" has been coursing through my veins since the Olympics. Hopefully it continues to course all the way into June.

its still sad that maatta, a 19 year old kid, is now looked upon as the guy theyll put out there with orpik or scuderi when it becomes so obvious they cant even move their own feet. the rookie kid that should be the one relying on the partner is now constantly called on to be the stabilizer.

Unfortunately, Scuderi looks finished. He's played a lot of hard minutes in his career. Martin will help if he returns, but the Pens are going to have to outscore teams in the playoffs. Even if Letang returns, he's never been classified as a defensive specialist. Orpik and Scuderi looking slow and old represent a major problem for your blueline. Finally, who knows which Flower shows up in the playoffs. Talk about a guy who has some playoff demons to overcome.

I'm not usually the one that's the uneducated WIP caller type, so we can all trust I'm not trolling when I say the following:

I would NOT, under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, want Marc-Andre Fleury as my starting goalie in the playoffs. I sure as hell wouldn't (and don't right now) trust him, and I'm not sure my team would either. Especially that latter reason; we all know how integral a team trusting its starting goalie is in the playoffs.

i dont take it that way at all. thats a totally rational way of thinking. you have every reason to. im not even sold. i know the ability is there, but its on a purely believe it when i see it basis. if he implodes again, you have to move on. but that being said, it cant go strictly on facts alone.

I agree with this for sure.

I could really see huge changes coming out of Pittsburgh if the Pens get embarrassed out of the playoffs this season. And I do mean embarrassed....embarrassed =/= not winning the Cup.
