They have heart, and when they are on streaks like this, its the captain leading the way.

Cannot say bad things about G. Has become a monster on face-offs. He is really a fun player to watch.

That was a damned impressive win against a good and desperate Stars team. Had a bit of a lull in the second, but did a great job with team defense in the third. Mason was fantastic, to boot.

Got like Kimmo with the 5th most minutes amongst the d-men. Having 6 dmen contributing is going to pay big dividends down the stretch and in the playoffs.

Yup, may not have a #1 but they are a good deep group and their top 3 lines are real solid too

This is what we're talking about with team speed -- however you want to say it, that Dallas is faster or Philadelphia is slower or whatever, but the Stars are a little quicker to the puck in 50-50 races against our defense.

Doesn't mean we can't or won't win, just a statement. They're giving us fits right now

- AllInForFlyers

Dallas was quicker to the puck and won most of the races and battles for the puck because they simply outworked the Flyers tonight. Flyers did not have their A game tonight. For whatever reason. And they should be thankful that Tim Thomas is not what he used to be.

These ROWs the Flyers are picking up...the math is REALLY starting to favor them.

Things could still get sideways, obviously. But the math is starting to REALLY REALLY REALLY look good for them

If this team is starting to get on a roll this would be no better time. They are playing excellent hockey and with the Blues coming to town it should be another exciting game.

Also, Raffl is such a useful player spelling Downie in certain situations. Also, he can jump into the top 6 if one of those forwards is off the ice for whatever reason. However, we are watching B. Schenn and Coots grow by leaps and bounds this season, which is fun to watch.

I don't remember the Flyers transition game ever being as good as it is right now. They're making smart, quick decisions ... and seem to always have their feet moving.

Certainly did. Emery was good after allowing that 2nd goal against Chicago. Goaltending has been tremendous for the last 5+ periods.

They just have to keep playing the same way they're playing now, great puck support, everyone helping out on defense, staying disciplined even when the other team has the puck in their end for an extended period of time, a strong, but controlled forecheck...it's been damned impressive

When Mason plays like this and they keep their skates moving this team can play with anyone. The emergence of Couturier as a shutdown beast combined with Giroux's excellent play and the continued development of B Schenn and Raffl has been awesome. Add to that solid D and top notch goaltending and special teams and you have a team that will do some real damage in the playoffs!!

Another two points is huuuuggggeeeee. Thought the second period lull was a result of the back to back penalties...this team just has a different feel right now....can't say enough about Giroux....but watching some of the support staff....Couturier, Simmonds and Raffl really step up ....lot of fun to watch.....

I thought they got a little sloppy in the second period. Stars really upped their game and checked really well. They really clogged the neutral zone.

Agreed -- that rest Mason got on Tuesday, with the Flyers still winning, may be one of the most significant moments for this team if it does qualify for the playoffs

Even the Pens games, Mason was solid, and with the way they're playing, they don't usually need the goalie to steal them games.

Stars were a desperate team tonight. Flyers had three straight games where they had to amp up the emotion and could easily have not matched Dallas' effort. They responded splendidly.
