both goalies have had an off year ( anderson has been better lately, but had a bad start.....and lehner is 22, so inconsistency is to be expected)......and most importantly, our defense has been horrible, especially phillips and cowen.
it's been a nasty combination of horrible giveaways, which lead directly to goals....at least 2 a game.
it also doesn't help that maclean seems to be completely out to lunch when it comes to who plays and how much. the greening/smith/neil line have essentially turned into our 2nd line (if you look at TOI) and are consistently getting more ice time than zibanejad, turris, ryan, macarthur, hoffman.....pretty much everyone but the spezza line.
if i could sum up ottawa's season in 4 pts, it would be:
- poopty defense
- poopty coaching
- inconsistent goaltending
- (frank)ING AWFUL owner - sensarmy_11
You could be describing the Islanders... |

Yzerman's mo is 5 year contracts. So I think most of us here in Tampa want to sign him for 5yrs/25-27.5mil. With Florida having no state taxes 5.5 mil here is more in actual dollars then 6.25-6.5 in New York. I will take him for that and he sees the team is young and building to good things so maybe he signs. But personally I still see him signing with Buffalo.
You guys really want him with the yrs and numbers he's looking for? - Cptmjl

Did you know that the reason we won was because of the refs. So says some of the Leaf fans over on TSN. Fortunately they are getting negative thumbs down.
Sure was great to see Stamkos light it up. |

to be fair, that was a pretty bad missed call on TB's 5th goal, but any team who leaves stamkos that open for an entire game, has nobody to blame but themselves when they lose. |

if im a ref, I don't call accidental contact interference , not even a close decision IMO...TJ was looking the other way and they both ran into each other cause both of them were not looking, it just so happens the sens guy fell over, big deal..refs made the right call
leafs guy* maybe I should figure out who im talking about before I post |

Oh I'll give them that but we won by 2 goals. Maybe Fraser will address that play in his ask the ref column. |

I don't see why a ref would call it interference, both ran into each other both weren't looking why would someone on either team be penalized about that
both looking at the puck, tyler Johnson playing wing getting open so they can head-man the puck, was looking at the puck carrier the entire time waiting for a pass, #8 was backing up also looking at the puck and when he turned to pursue the puck carrier he hit Johnson as Johnson was skating across, both accidentally contacted one another |

Call could have gone either way considering the quality of NHL refereeing. Didn't matter we won by 2. Some of the Leaf fans were claiming that they lost because of the reffing not just this call. Whiners be whiners. |

That is exactly the scenario as it was and exactly why no penalty was called IMO

Very true statement but as the rules state that was not interference

We have officially signed Cody Kunyk! He comes straight to Tampa Bay. We are also supposedly looking at Christian Frolin, a Swedish defenseman for UMass-Lowell. He's 6'3", 209 lbs and a stay-at-home guy. |
