just looking ahead at teh playoffs. if they started today, flyers would play nyr (for the first time since 97), and if they got through, the winner of pittsburgh/toronto in the 2nd round. i like their chances all around. i feel like they could take ny in a series, csp and all. and i think they're in pittsburgh's head a bit. toronto scares me a little for some reason though.

I think I've rewatched Giroux's goal 12 times today. What a snipe

As I said before, I had a real hard time picking it up until it hits the back of the tender and slowly trickles over the line. Incredible shot.

Would you rather play (in order): Flyers, Caps, CBJ, Leafs, Lightning, Habs, Devils, Red Wings?

1. Detroit (the entire team is injured)
2. CBJ (very little playoff experience)
3. Habs
4. Caps
5. Devils
6. TB
7. Leafs
8. Flyers

That would be my guess at least

Detroit could be dangerous if they get in. Datsyuk and Zetterberg are both supposed to be back for the playoffs (if they get in). I think the Pens would beat them, but i could see it going 7 games.

Maybe, but I doubt Zetterberg is really going to be anywhere near 100% even if he does make it back and either way these arent the Red Wings of years past

my ranking of detroit was with a healthy roster with dats and zetterberg. should they be in, people forget this is a veteran team that just ramps it up in the playoffs. you cant count them out.

the habs worry me for some reason. they always play them well. its pathetic but the devils are worrisome as well. theyre awful, but just so frustrating. i think the pens would beat them in a 7 game series, but it will be closer than necessary. that being said i dont think they get in.

the lightning have some firepower, but i think theyll engage in a more open game that the pens can win.

I still think they'll be a difficult out with Datsyuk and Zetterberg in the lineup. I think the Pens will win, but I wouldn't put them at the top of the list for any first round opponent.

TB could be a sleeper, Callahan seems to have energized them and Stamkos will be fully up to speed by then.

However, unless MAF implodes, the Flyers are the only one of these teams that I think has a legit chance to beat the Pens.

The Bruins on the other hand.....

thats how i feel.

the rangers really dont scare me either, if the pens have a healthy lineup. thats going to be everything for the pens. if they have to field a lineup similar to what they iced against you guys over the weekend, it really doesnt matter.

Flyers really struggle with the Lightning. A series with the Habs would be very tight. I think the Flyers would beat the Leafs even though they don't matchup great with them.

Flyers have played really poorly against the Rangers over the last few years, but they are a different team now.

even if the pens get fully healthy, a flyers series is still virtually a coinflip at best for either team.

and the bruins. ugh. heres to hoping somebody takes them out somehow. i dont see the pens or flyers getting by them. i have a hard time seeing anyone get by them, but then again, toronto all but had it done.

Yup the Rags are starting to look like they did in the Esposito era, wide open. I really can't remember the last Ranger game in which 12 goals were scored. I really think they are one and done if they make the playoffs

it all depends. the flyers are starting to show that they have some of the Pens in them, in good ways and in bad. the good, just look at the past 3 games. incredible. if they play with that intensity, i dont see the rangers having a chance. that kind of hustle and drive performed by a team with that much scoring depth is tough to beat.

but then you have to wonder, does the whole forwards on the perimeter, no one moving their skates, dmen cant get out of their own zone thing start again.

in a way, its more frustrating to know the gear is there than to not have it at all

Ill take the pens, rangers or habs. The flyers just seem to have the pens and the habs numbers. For some reason I really think the flyers have a good shot at taking out the rangers this year.
