It's funny, but putting people into proper roles is obviously anything. I didn't want Kimmo back this year let alone next year, but he allows everyone else to play their role (aside from being great this year), especially now that they have AMac.

I will always want Kimmo back. He's such an underrated player. There isn't a player in FA that can come in and do what he does. Even if they sign Niskanen, he's still not going to be able to do what Kimmo does.

People who say over and over again that the Flyers are a slow team should watch last night's game. Chicago is arguably the fastest team in the NHL, but the Flyers were able to keep up with them.

Why? It's because the Flyers kept their feet moving. They controlled the gaps between the forwards and defensemen. They got numbers on the Hawks on many occasions and, when they couldn't, kept one-on-one situations manageable. The puck management was good after some shaky early play. The backchecking support was consistent and the forechecking pressure was outstanding. All because the Flyers skated, skated and skated some more.

If I've stated that very sentiment once, I've stated it a hundred times. But we still hear that they're "slow as dirt"!

Well, perhaps she could schedule an appointment, then you could review her concerns together. You'll have to check your schedule (on NHL.com).

Listen, if there is anything other then adolescent nonsense coming out of me, unless there is some serious life situation going on, that would raise a serious red flag for my better half.

I've criticized the flyers pretty frequently about how pathetically slow they appear in most games. What the last 3 games has shown me, is that they could play a faster game all along. They've been pretty incredible the last 3 games.

So i'll have to retract my previous comments and say this, "They have the potential to play as fast as any other team in the league, when they decide to show up and play fast".

I've been pretty shocked the last few games.

I think they're physically slow man for man. They get into trouble when they don't move their feet more than other teams.

They have a significant amount of guys who win board battles, which offsets the speed a little bit.

They also have Couturier who plays faster than he really is because of thinks one step ahead.

Anyone else watching the Hawks/Blues game? I didn't understand the reference to the Simmonds fight by Doc. Does he mean the fans in Philly weren't enthusiastic about Simmonds (one of our best players) fighting a heavyweight with only 6 minutes left in a tie game?

Nah watching Stamkos try for his first 4-goal game.

Reimer

Also just saw the replay on that Killorn/Ranger hit. Shouldn't be suspended IMO. Ranger turned into the boards at the last second. Players need to protect themselves.

It's much better when your hockey team is playing well. Love it. Hope they keep it going.

Giroux has really been something to watch. I really think the Olympic snub has sparked him as it should
