This is nothing more than stereotyping based off his nationality. If his name was Adam Smith from Fairbault MN nobody would be making those accusations. He doesn't need to be a two way player because he was drafted to be a pure goal scorer. But don't mistake not being a 2 way forward for not working hard (which he does).

Watch the Oilers play and listen to their teams play by play people as well as their fans.

You need high end dynamic forwards, specifically centers, you don't have them. Guess where you find them? Top 3 in the draft.

Agreed.....the timing is beautiful with McDavid coming next year and a very strong draft. Don't know who said it but I completely agree, can you imagine the poop storm if a good to premier team landed the first overal!

Darcy also made the decision to play Grigorenko far too early. Murray does not seem to be the guy to do that. Pressuring players to outperform is not a wise way to build confidence in a player. Grigorenko is doing what he should (maybe slightly behind in production, but I remember reading [reeding, reiding] that he was on the 2nd line and 2nd power play when he got there) in the Q. If he spends next year building chemistry with players like Armia in the A, we could see his potential.

Propects are wishes and dreams. We can only hope they pan out to the players we want them to be. Girgensens is doing that. He showed that the time in the A (and his insane work ethic) are making him the player he should be; a 6-9 forward. I'll take that type of prospect building any day of the week.

Look at what Anaheim is doing with Etem. He is still in the A, when most believe he should be with the big club. Anaheim traded for, and signed Jackman as a stable forward so that Etem can be hungrier for the big club once guys like Selanne and Koivu retire.

I f I had time id look for a clip but it was said he was asked about his defensive game and his repley it was said hes not getting payed for his defensive game or to play defence.Watch 4 or 5 Oilers games if you get bored and youll see he makes bone headed plays and looks frustrated.If you want to know about a player on another team do what the scouts do watch him play and also listen to the people who see him play game after game.

Agree with all of this. Murray's focus on fostering internal competition is extremely healthy, IMO.

But NF... These guys are not going to be the "go to" sure to score a goal type players. I doubt any of them ever scores 20 goals in a season in the NHL.... We have way too many of those players now.....
