Possible but I think he would still at least a whole season in the NHL to show anything of real worth. Time will tell.

Any first round pick in this years draft would all ready be top 6 in terms of talent on this team. Reinhart all ready has NHL level hockey IQ which is the thing talented young kids have the biggest trouble with. Look no further than Grigs. Reinhart may start on 3rd line as a your not going to have anything handed to you type move but with his skill and all ready mature play he'd make the top 6 no problem a month into the season.

All this is obviously a fantasy if we don't draft him

Imagine both Kane's. That would be a great line.

Also Larsson has been tearing it up. I think he stays here next season

Not to mention down the road with Compher the future is coming and going to be bright if we can hit on the right player this year and next

Grigs didnt lack the IQ and hockey sense, he lacked the physical tools. Displayed below average skating at the NHL level, lacked the drive and compete to want the puck and demand the puck, and he lacked the actual ability to withstand physical contact. I understand he isnt going to initiate contact, but he can at least go to the corners for the puck and take a hit to make plays. Which goes back to my point, he lacked the strength at the NHL level.

Reinhart excels in all the areas. Except the physical side of it but he doesn't need to be too physical look no further then JT or Towes. Grigs lacked the drive I guess but its not as if he didn't want to play well he just didn't like playing with John Scott and frankly who could blame him. A skilled guy should never play with a guy who wouldn't even be on the top two lines in most Junior teams. He should have handled it better though.

Didn't like playing with John Scott ? Should have tried skating faster than . Only player Grigorenko could keep up with was Scott . He should not have been here . Was not ready for all the reasons previous poster stated.

Hm... Pretty sure I just said he should have handled it better didn't I?....

Actually he shouldn't have been here in the first place. Darcy butchered this kids confidence. Lindy is very tough on rookies especially Russians and the two didn't mesh well and Ron Rolston just was the cherry on top in terms of using him horribly. He needs a better attitude and skating ability that's not a doubt in my mind but none of us would be having this conversation if he just stayed in Juniors last year.

I dont put anything negative on Grigs because of what happened. I put all the blame on Darcy and the coaches. If Grigs was going to be here, he shouldve been playing with better players. But he had no business being rushed into the NHL. He shouldnt have played ANY games last year, and shouldnt have gotten more than the 9 game tryout this year. Ideally he spends the whole year in Q last season. Comes to NHL camp beginning this year, let him play the 9 games, and then send him back where he belonged in the Q and told him to work on his weaknesses.

If Grigo wasnt made promises, making the money he made in the NHL, he wouldnt have been so upset about going back to juniors.

Also, Toews absolutely is a physical player. I would say Sam Bennett is more like Toews game style than Reinhart is.

In one of Grigorenko's last games here he scored as many goals as Scott has in his 200+ game career. He's right, he shouldn't have been with Scott or McCormick.

It does no one any favors.

I also think the current Junior rule with not playing in the NHL is complete crap. If you've been drafted by your club and are over 18 you should be able to play for the teams AHL team. Your that NHL's teams property. Grigs is still not going to be much better when he's not being tested in the things he needs to get better at because the Quebec league is the weakest in terms of competition of the three junior Canadian leauges. His development would be much better if he was playing in the AHL this year

Toews has been compared to Bennett this is true. Reinhart has been compared to JT and Mackinnon just saying Towes is no towering physical center like Getzlaf or Malkin.

He's not physically intimidating if that's what you mean, but Toews is as a physical of a hockey player as you will find

That's what I meant.. the poster was trying to say most rookies aren't ready for the physical side of it but I was pointing out you don't need to be a physically intimidating center to succeed. Reinhart battles for the puck just like Toews does that's all you need when you have as much skill and hockey IQ as he does.. Don't need 100 Steve Ott's running arond
