All the kid does is score goals ! I like him more then Reinhart because the OHL is the strongest of the three leagues and his point production and his speed jumps off the charts. Played with McDavid with the Toronto Marlies (AAA) as well and that would be pretty neat if fate saw them reunite on the Sabres. Scouts rave about his work ethic and his grittiness as well so he could fit in well with Nolan's style of play
- Pegullaville

Well his point production isn't through the roof... I remember looking at his stats the other day and being slightly disappointed compared to the rest of his team let alone the league but its still a pretty good point production. Reinhart tied the record amount of points for his club this year. I think a lot of the things you said about Bennett you can say about Reinhart and better at some of it

Reinhart is known for having one of the best hockey IQ's in recent draft memory, really good two way game, extremely creative with the puck and a passionate leader that teams build around. He also has a crap ton of points. I know its not the OHL but the WHL is probably 2nd best. I still have Reinhart as my number 1 by a wide margin but its nice to see people are saying good things about Bennett. Don't think he's ready till 2015-2016 though

My issue with Bennett over Reinhart is we need a top center and Bennett is projected to end up on the wing.

You don't build your team around wingers or goalies.

- HonkFortheGoose

At this point we have no wingers or centres though ! Boston does not have a true #1 centre but their top 9 could interchange on the top two lines IMO. Yes Bergeron and Krejci are great hockey players but the're 2A and 2B

In a perfect world we get sam Reinhardt number 1 and draisaitl or Bennett 3 or 4 from the islanders pick.

I will be happy with one of Bennett, Reinhart, or Ekblad. I'm more curious to see what we do in Free agency

You take the center. You can move a guy from center to wing, but you really can't move them from wing to center. We can't bank on the fact that we'll get McDavid next year. Without a top center, a top winger isn't going to be as productive.

I mean for me its not even a fact that he's a center its the fact that he's the better player. The fact that he's slightly bigger and a center is a nice bonus.

It seems to be that they're fairly even from all the different scouting reports I've heard. If that's truly the case, you take the center every time. Or at least, that's what a smart hockey club would do.

Depends on who you ask.. Maybe one or two guys will say Bennett's better even more who say its pretty even but most say Reinhart's the superior player. I agree with the latter but respect Bennett more as an option now. One things for sure we will I'd say 85% likely be drafting one of either Sam Reinhart or Sam Bennett this June. Depending on draft position and where each guy ranks on our big board. I know Ekblad has the hype of being a generational D-Man but I think we go offense either way.

I feel like a forward, whether it ends up a center or a winger, will have a bigger impact right from the start.

That doesn't mean they'll end up the better player when their careers are over, but I would rather have the guy that's going to help the team more now, rather than years down the road.

Myers is the perfect example of why I say this. He's really starting to come into his own now, but it's taken like 5 years, and we're still not even sure if he'll be able to carry it over to next season.

Weber and McBain are paired together.

I'm pretty sure that's the worst D pairing in the entire league.

Yeah but if it was John Scott with either of them it would be a close race.
