The reason Hasek made so many highlight reel saves was that he was often so out of position he had to make the impossible save. (to his credit he often did)

he was also like 88 lbs soaking wet

Totally agree here. I am not taking anything away from Hasek (why the hell would I?) but Miller doesn't need to make those types of saves

2 teams 2 games Hasik did that to every team he faced.

Wow, you really need to get over this Miller hate obsession . It is effecting your memory . I think they were a couple more amazing games than that . Did Miller steal your dog ? There has to be something sinister behind this !

Hasek left players scratching theirs heads because of how he stopped them. Miller has left many players with their heads hung. The 3 on 0 save against Boston comes to mind. Against Pittsburgh this season etc. If Miller has to make that acrobatic save its because he is out of position or is facing a scenario no goaltender should face. Miller is a systematic technically sound goalie Hasek was all over the place. Miller is good because he controls his rebound and is usually in the right position.

Millers predictable Hasik wasn't, that's the difference.

So you are holding its against Miller because of his style? I don't care how it gets done just stop the puck. You could say Miller isn't as entertaining to you and thats fine but your hate for Miller is very confusing

Yet you put him behind a very mediocre team and he becomes very mediocre. I think you just like the guys that are all over the place because they look more entertaining. The technically sound guys are boring to you so you don't think they ever "steal" games like Hasek did. That isn't true though.

I have no issue with a Miller discussion if you would give us something other than his style as why all the hate for him.

You are a sad little man. Miler really must have done you wrong. No one claims he is the best of all time here. Just a lot better than you give him credit for.

not so slim thomas is not a good goalie. never has been. raask is decent.

boston has a good defensive scheme. chara is god. tim thomas on another team is poop (see florida). i wouldn't give raask 7 million if my life depended on it.

chara will leave. raask isn't worth 7 mil. in 3 years the team will be a mess.

Nobody gives Darcy credit for building the best team in Sabres history. But everyone is the first to jump in and blame Darcy for losing Briere and Drury. For signing Vanek to the offer sheet. These 3 moves changed the direction of the franchise. These were all moves by the current owner at the time. Internal cap restricted us from giving Briere and Drury the money they deserved to keep both. We were forced to cut ties with one of them which ultimately led to losing both. Then when Vanek signed the offer sheet, the owner wouldnt accept letting him go and told Darcy to match anything. Didnt want the fans irate at losing 3 key members in one offseason and uprising against him. But he did a good job passing the blame on to Darcy...

Look at Garth Snow as a GM under Wang. He has tight leash on him towards spending. If they held back salary on Vanek, they wouldve gotten a much better return that was better for their franchise, the owner (frank)ed him. Made him look like an incompetent GM. Same situation Darcy was under pre-Pegula.

Restrictive owners hurt GM's. With the assets Darcy was collecting there are no doubts he couldve built this team back to glory. He did it once before and all it took was 1 top 5 pick in Vanek and a couple jedi mind trick trades for veterans.

You forgot to mention that it was Darcy who opened his big yap prior to Edmonton offering the huge contract... Remember Darcy saying the Sabres would match any offer Vanek got and then shortly there after the big offer from the Oilers showed up? Darcy screwed the Sabres with that statement.

I could be wrong but wasn't Hasek on a pretty mediocre team in 99 ? You are correct tho I like that style but more so because guys like Hasik just get it done as well.

Did Darcy really say that on his own or was he instructed to make that statement by the Evil Sabre wrecker known as Quinn ?

Speaking of Vanek he kind of sucks in Montreal. One of our guys pulled his legs apart having him doing the splits at the game the other night that was pretty funny.Seriously tho the dudes too slow to be skating with Montreal.Hes great if you stick him in front of the net or can place him off to the side. You can wack at him all day and he wont move but if he has to move you better tape a cheata to his back it aint happeing.

Just let Miller do his thing.

Not to single out Buffalo1, but I love watching the Miller haters slowly run out of things to criticize him about... It's quite comical
