Perron is meh - probably best not to compare him to our "scorers".

RNH is Timmy C 2.0 and Yak is living up to the Russian stereotype.

Nurse may be a good prospect but you won't notice him in that shambles of a defence.

Care to elaborate on both of these, please.

Top 5 is not number one is it.I like Millers but hes not the best Ive ever seen nor is he the best playing now .Just my unprofessional opinon .

I don't really think there is a best in business even when Hasek was here there was Marty and Roy. I would say he is playing the best right now with St Louis. We will see what happens in the playoffs. He won't have to carry them like he did in Buffalo. I think you underrate him because most of the teams he played on here weren't good enough to win and you hold that against him. Yet Hasek couldn't win here either he needed a real team to win it all. Before you get up in arms I am not saying Miller is on Hasek's level I am just using him as an example

I absolutely love some of the comments on here that say Pysyk is awful because he does nothing. And to think, most of us claim to know something about hockey.
- TheSabresTaco

I find it amusing because that's the reason I like him. Because he can go a whole game and I won't notice him. It's actually one of the things that French had in his write up of our prospects at the beginning of the year.

USA would not have been in Gold Medal game without Miller in 2010. Man your hate for Miller runs deep . Did he steal your girlfriend at some point ?

- Maximum Signal

Judging by what the US brought to the table this year you might be right.I thought Dipietro and Quick were better goalies at that time but neither got their shot.Oh well.I don't hate Miller I just don't think hes a shut down goalie and a bit over rated.

You have to admit Hasik would leaving opposing players scratching their head wondering if they could ever get one by him.Miller doesn't do that imo.Thats the difference in goalies being elite to me and just good.

I'm not saying that they are on teh same level but, both teams wouldnt win 20 games if we didnt have them in net.
Think of this how many games will we win in the last 14 games? O/U 3?
How many games will we outshoot the opposition? O/U 2?

The only hate you can give miller is that he kept us form being a bottom 5 team the last 3-5 years.

Dipietro was never consistent . And Quick had not brought his game to the next level at that point.

You must have missed the Toronto games during Miller's career then. Or the Washington game earlier this season that Ovie had about 10 shots during and couldn't get any past Miller.

Id bet decent money if you took OV's goals against per goalie in the East over the last how ever many years miller is top 3 fewest goals given up.

He is a great young player and I'm willing to bet Teddy Nolan and Timmy Murray know a little more about talent than some hockey buzzards. They have both heavily endorsed him. He's not Kris Letang and he's not Zdeno Chara and he's not Shea Weber. (Referenced Letang because of his high offensive output over the years.)

He's a steady all around defenseman with great puck, passing and positional skills. I'd wish for him to be a little more physical but by no means is his lack of a certain stat like hits or assists grounds to call him "awful" as some of you have put it. Don't mean to make a big deal but I take it as borderline trolling. Blatant ignorance if nothing else.

RNH missed part of his rookie season because he was hurt. He has missed 27 games in his 3 year career. 20 of those were his rookie year.

What does Yak being Russian have to do with anything?

Hasek left players scratching theirs heads because of how he stopped them. Miller has left many players with their heads hung. The 3 on 0 save against Boston comes to mind. Against Pittsburgh this season etc. If Miller has to make that acrobatic save its because he is out of position or is facing a scenario no goaltender should face. Miller is a systematic technically sound goalie Hasek was all over the place. Miller is good because he controls his rebound and is usually in the right position.

Some love to OVER-romantisize about Hasek....and then Bash Miller for not living up to that memory.

Miller has made several great saves that look routine because of his style. He doesnt have Hasek's style. Miller moves so well post to post that he doesnt need to flail around like a slinky he has most of his body already there. I loved Hasek when I was younger I used to laugh at how he made saves it was entertaining he was one of the best ever but Miller is a very good goalie as well.

Its all about flash vs technical

Hasek is like mustang flashy and looks good but in the snow is terrible
Miller is like a truck dependable wont get stuck in the snow

For team USA personally think MIller should have played every game but the Russia game imo?

The reason Hasek made so many highlight reel saves was that he was often so out of position he had to make the impossible save. (to his credit he often did)
