that would have been my guess. Knapp was with the team to start the season i think.... then got demoted when his play was terrible..
- IndianaSabresFan

I believe you're right, Rochester started the season with Knapp, Lieuwen and Hackett but assigned Knapp to the ECHL. My guess is when Neuvirth is healthy (supposedly during the western trip), they'll send Hackett back to Roch.

Knapp never even played a game for Rochester (in the regular season anyway). Only Hackett and Lieuwen. And Lieuwen's numbers are WAY better than Hackett's are.

Correct. Knapp was the odd man out there, been in the ECHL ad now he's back in Rochester, for now. He won't amount to much at this point. Lieuwen has really improved and Hackett just plain sucks. Makarov is the interesting prospect, not sure what they are gonna get from him. His stats in Fort Wayne are so-so but not sure how good that team is in front of him.

Lieuwen started to look good last season and then ended up getting hurt. I'm glad he's finally getting a chance. Everyone seems to want to write him off right away. But I like him.

Makarov is going to need some time to continue to develop. He can steal a game for you, but then the next one he's a complete mess. That comes with time and coaching though. He's got the skills, it's a matter of having them become more consistent. I get the feeling he'll be in Rochester next year.

Agreed, I think you'll see Lieuwen and Makarov in Rochester next season and Hackett will be the odd man out.

If the hurricanes won, they would take a Dman.
- benny948

Rutherford has stated several times he dosent like to take D men early 1st cause they take too long to develope but Ekbald could be the exception to the rule

I'm disappointed that Hackett has been such a mess. But that's how things work out sometimes I guess.

from what i saw when at the game on friday i am going to guess the team in front of him is kind of inconsistent. they had some shifts where they played good then couldn't connect a pass for the next three shifts. They were more concerned about getting a cheer from the crowd.

i was kind of excited when we got him in that trade. i know he had played good in Minne at one point during a call up.. i was hoping he would make some leaps and and be a back up next season..

Glad to see Lieuwen s staying up here now and getting his shot.Hope we don't see Hackett used since everyone pretty much thinks he s not very good.

Me too. I feel like maybe he just needs some time with Corsi to get his game back in shape or something. Seems odd that he would have such a drop off. Maybe just needs to get some confidence back somehow.

it could be this call up does it because it is a fresh start.. or he could come back next season re-newed.. you never know he is still kind of young. but i was impressed with the calm play by lewey

Hackett is in his 4th year in the AHL and maybe he thinks he deserved a job in the NHL by now. It could be that he's soured a bit and with Lieuwen called up, he might be done in this organization.

I don't think thats a big problem IMO. He wants out let him leave. He hasn't taken the reigns at all. There is going to be a logjam in net in Rochester next year Hackett hasn't shown me anything

Not biased much are we ? Miller better then Rask in goal ? I don't think so.

a log jam of mediocrity.. i think Ullmark stays in Sweden till we get the Lewey, makarov, Knapp, hackett thing figured out.

NHL next season should be Neuvirth and Enroth
AHL Lewey and mak or knapp with hackett gone.

the blues are just an overall better team.. Miller v Rask will not win that series.

You will be disappointed since finishing in last place is rewarded by having only 25% chance of winning the lottery to actually draft first. We have to hope the team that wins is so deficient in yound D-men that they have to draft Ekblad...the we get what we want in Reinhart.
Now, considering the luck associated with Buffalo sports teams, I'm preparing myself to accept the fact Reinhart will be gone ... If not then it is a bonus (rather than the usual bone us treatment we get).

doesnt sound like bennett would be a bad consolation prize. lotsa of stuff is gonna go down between now and then, and the isles pick may be in play. could end up with bennett and dal colle, draisaitl, or maybe a perlini or nick ritchie with the isles pick. i want them to use the first/second pick on the best center available, got a feeling that the market for the top players in this draft isnt going to be good for us. dont see us getting a franchise center (by trade) for the first or second overall this year.
