I still don't understand how you equate what I said to them being lazy. I think they are being unappreciative asses, but not lazy. - Buffalo-Sabres
This does not equate to anything I wrote. I have not used the word lazy in any of my posts except calling Vanek a slacker. |

J T Compher named big ten freshman of the year !! |

Hackett is on the trip west with the team. 6 game losing streak so far . Longest this season. Could it go 9 ? - cabin
Definitely, could go much higher. This team would compete with the 1974-75 Washington Capitals as worst team in NHL history. When Drew Stafford or Tyler Ennis are your top players you at least rank as the worst Sabres team of all time. |

Points for Darcy for making that trade, even though some think the Sabres should have got more for Sekera |

How Miller acted when he departed is only a microcosm of who he is. That was one day. A day he was told was coming. How about when he ripped the fans last year after he played like crap? Or how he acted childish when they traded Gaustad even though it was an obvious win for the team. It's no secret Miller isn't a team guy and thinks he's better than everybody. Thy writing was totally on the wall with that guy. - Buffalo-Sabres
You are just so off base with Miller it is laughable . He hated to lose ! Nothing wrong with that . As far as getting pissed at the fans once and a while . Why not? How would you like it if everyone came and harassed you at work if you had a bad day . Give me a break with they are well paid , they need to suck it up and take it . They are still human beings not robots.

with a goalie tandem that was last week on a losing AHL team... yes - IndianaSabresFan
The AHL team has begun to suffer because of all the injuries to the NHL team. I'm sure not having Ruhwedel and now Ristolainen isn't helping, not to mention trading McNabb. |

I understand people want the AHL team to do well, But it does not mater to me how they do. The AHL is a developmental league. If the players are ready to be in the NHL they should be here, regardless of how Rochester is performing.

He should have stayed. He'd probably be with the Sabres right now. He's got more experience in the NHL, so I would think that would be the guy they would have called up.
Right now they basically have Pysyk, and a bunch of guys that aren't ever going to make it to the NHL on their blueline.
Yuck. |

Having the kids in an environment that can win in important. But I wasn't even complaining. I was merely pointing out that Rochester is suffering because the NHL team is a mess with injuries right now. Usually if the NHL team has a ton of injuries, it eventually trickles down to the AHL team and they end up going on losing streaks due to the amount of inconsistency in their roster. |

I never said you were complaining, I just feel differently about it, that is all. Having "the kids" gain valuable NHL experience is something I think holds more value than winning in the AHL. |

I was hoping you would say that.
If we are going to use the EDM example, they are outliers. Pitt, Chicago, LA, Boston, Detroit, St. louis, Minnesota. All teams who have had kids develope in the NHL and all have found success doing so, now granted they are surrounded by veteran leadership, something EDM has failed to do.
I am not saying for all young players this will work, but if they are ready to play they should be playing. |

Watched the game yesterday, geez I don't know what it is with this team, they had some glorious scoring chances. Now I know I have bagged Stafford in the past, but not sure how it is happened, but the Stafford/Ennis/Conachar line looked great everytime they were on the ice, Stafford driving the net, looked great.
Lieuwen (?), ok, first game, called in, but wow does he just look like an NHL goalie, he looks calm, steady and focused, Enroth always looks scared, he did look great though and covers more of the net. |

After he scapegoated Lindy Ruff for the failures of the late 2000's; with Pegula willing to bankroll just about anything, and nothing counting against the salary cap, Regier hired Ron Rolston as interim, and then kept him long term.
That was as AWFUL as anyone could think. - Der Kaiser
Lindy had a shelf life just like Darcy.
They both needed to go. |

Brandon Saad played in the NHL at 19 and hasnt looked back. Olli Maatta is 19 or 20.

Saad played with Toews for most of last year. We don't have that talent or leadership on our team. 18 and 19yo's not picked high need talent to thrive initially. |

Another stupid statement from you . Just like when you said the Canadian government could not devalue the dollar to help the Canadian economy . Been watching that lately ? Seen the effect it is having on next years salary cap among other things.
- Maximum Signal
In what economy does losing value of your dollar make the value of your dollar go up?
Another internet conspiracy genius that got his degree at Google U.
You cant put as many of these as you want. You are still stupid.

Nobody gives Darcy credit for building the best team in Sabres history. But everyone is the first to jump in and blame Darcy for losing Briere and Drury. For signing Vanek to the offer sheet. These 3 moves changed the direction of the franchise. These were all moves by the current owner at the time. Internal cap restricted us from giving Briere and Drury the money they deserved to keep both. We were forced to cut ties with one of them which ultimately led to losing both. Then when Vanek signed the offer sheet, the owner wouldnt accept letting him go and told Darcy to match anything. Didnt want the fans irate at losing 3 key members in one offseason and uprising against him. But he did a good job passing the blame on to Darcy...
Look at Garth Snow as a GM under Wang. He has tight leash on him towards spending. If they held back salary on Vanek, they wouldve gotten a much better return that was better for their franchise, the owner (frank)ed him. Made him look like an incompetent GM. Same situation Darcy was under pre-Pegula.
Restrictive owners hurt GM's. With the assets Darcy was collecting there are no doubts he couldve built this team back to glory. He did it once before and all it took was 1 top 5 pick in Vanek and a couple jedi mind trick trades for veterans. - theblueandgold
when they let Briere and Drury walk, they should have taken the picks for vanek |
