Pittsburg extended letang last year and he will be earning 7.25 million for 8 years. Doughty gets north of 7 also. You are dreaming if you think he signs for less than that

Personally I would match anything. No amount of draft picks in compensation could replace him. I just look at a team like Colorado with a great young team that has cap space, but is missing a stud defencmen.

Thats why they have to sign him before it gets to that point. I can see him signing a 4 year 28 million dollar contract or something along those lines. Test free agency after that. Who knows, in 6 years from now, top d-men might be earning 10 mil a year.
