The bottom line is this; The British army defeated the yellow bellied french forces on the Plains of Abraham in Sept. 13th 1759. Thus making Quebec and the new world Anglo land. However, the great English people being the chivalrous and gallant victors they are, allowed the french to keep their defeated culture and gave them full rights.
