Why bother with a guy like downie at this point? I'm a big fan, but I believe they should sign a legit top 6 guy who just inject youth in the line up. Shink, horvat, gaunce and jensen should see some games next year. We have a downie type in hansen and higgins. Doesn't really seem necessary IMO

Down year, he's young and it's why I think he'd come at a reasonable price. We all loved Torres for a reason while everyone else hated him. Downie's still relatively young as well. Look at Downie's career averages(goals, points, hits per 82 games). Very valuable player under the right coach.
