Downie with a headbutt?

Thanks for the PP

So glad Despres is sitting in the press box. Clearly he's the only guy that deserved to sit after yesterday.

Who's idea was it to put Engelland on the PP!?
- HopintheCordoba

Engelland should know better than to try to skate....

Why do the Penguins consistently give up at least one shorthanded goal per game against the Flyers?

Is Sid hurt? Left the last 2 power plays early.

Just awful. The kid plays well and he gets the press box. He plays poorly and he gets WBS. Should be playing no question.

Hey, we didn't give up a goal, odd man rush, or a breakaway... It's progress.

Engelland on the PP.... I have officially seem it all from Bylsma.

no heart, no effort, no discipline, no top 6.

not a good combo to have around this time of the year.

if these guys cant get pumped for a home and home series with your arch rival and youre trying to knock them out of a playoff spot... when will they get pumped?

That's how you end up with being forced to use Engo on the PP. He was one of the better defenders yesterday.

the key is getting Martin back and putting Despres back into the line up. I think Gunnar mentioned this a couple of blogs ago. Puck moving defensemen are the key to keeping possession.

and I just have this weird feeling that we see Letang during the playoffs at some point.

They played much better in that second period with the exception of the PP momentum killers.

This is the problem with not dressing Despres... You have Nisk on the first unit, and the second will be Maatta with???? Bortuzzo? Engelland isn't that far of a stretch.

I understand not wanting Engelland on the power play but the other options were Orpik, Scuderi, and Bortuzzo. Not exactly loaded with great options.

It's why Despres needs to play even if he makes errors.

Orpik would have been my choice. More cerebral. Less likely to try to do something that's beyond his abilities.

Would like to see Megna get his shot with Sid. Glass is just too slow to provide anything for that line.

Engelland fell, not like he had a bad giveaway. In theory, it's not a terrible idea.. he has a good shot and will take it. You just don't want him handling the puck much.

Penguin injuries are even rubbing off on the refs.
