It's a couple weeks of Hell for sure. Hawks, Stars, Blues, Kings, Rangers, Leafs, Bruins over the next 14 days. No back to backs is nice, but only one day between each game.

It's not much better in April. Blues, Jackets and Bruins to start before they get Buffalo, Florida, Tampa, Pittsburgh and Carolina.

- Jsaquella

If they can reach those last 5 games while remaining in the playoffs, I will feel very good about their chances. Pitt will be resting their starters by that game.

I doubt thats going to happen. Pitt fans don't even like Bylsma.

I guess your going to go crazy because its only a matter of time until the NHL hands him another one.

I think Hitchcock will win it

I dont understand what the Flyers do to piss them off. Are they yappers? They seem to get angriest with Couturier and I don't think he talks much.

The best part was when Pierre said Couturier challenged Sid to a fight and Sid declined.

- PhillySportsGuy

FWIW, Crosby didn't decline Couturier, he told him that he would do it.

watching berube and lappy work on the benches is awesome i hope they can keep it up berube should be a lock for jack adams
- 2Real

I'm not gonna go head and say lock, but he certainly deserves a look.

I love Lappy. I hope he stands behind the benches for as long as Berube has.

They're in playoff mode, if they survive and get in the playoffs, the team should really be focused and ready to go. There will be no coasting or easy games, which with this team might not be such a bad thing.

Whatshisface down in TB has my vote.

I think it's a 4 way race between him, Chief, Roy, and Tortorella

I know. I just don't think he would ever drop the gloves and square off. All of his fights come during tie-ups where no one can throw punches.

There isn't a player on the Flyers who would ever turn a Crosby fight down.

All seriousness, I think Roy will win. Colorado hasn't made that many improvements other than McKinnon.

I think Boudreau will get at least a little consideration too.

It's actually one of the more interesting awards this offseason- lots of choices it seems like...at least more than normal.

I can't remember seeing a faster and/or more furious downward spiral of a franchise than we're seeing with the Canucks right now and I'm so ok with this.

I know. Its like all of their players went from being 25 to 43 overnight.

Couple that with the hilarious decisions of their GM/ownership with the goalies and the Kesler saga and Torts getting suspended...

Oh it's just such a wonderful tale

So now the flyers only have to win one more game over the next 7 cuz everyone said that we were only going to win 3 of the next 9. No one has faith. It's sad.
- FlyersSteve118

You're right. Everyone on here would be very happy if they went 1-6 over the next 7 just to prove we were right.

Going into the grind, with the way they were playing, they weren't exactly inspiring a bunch of faith. I don't think anybody expected a sweep of the Penguins, given how infrequent a home win has been in that series over the past few years.

Its kinda the equivalent of saying: Voracek if out with an injury, you know who would work well with Giroux? Rinaldo.
- FrmRusiaWifGlov

It's far more then that. Neal, Kunitz, and Dupuis are all out. It's equivalent to Voracek, Simmonds, and Hartnell all being out with injuries. There might be some players playing in a role they aren't suited for.

I'd say Roy. Boudreau inherited (well, has, at least) a team that won its division last year, while Roy inherited a team that had the second-worst record in the league and didn't make any major moves other than MacKinnon.

The flyers don't deserve a whole heck of a lot of credit. It was a good 4 pts against a decimated team in a comfortable position. time to Move on good job

I don't think there has ever been a statement that I disagree with more. The Flyers deserve a ton of credit for the 4 points this weekend. And handily beating a still dangerous Pens team.

just to play devil's advocate, Chief inherited a team that was 1-7 and has coached them to one of the best records in the NHL since he took over

Yep. The Flyers didn't even have to step on the ice, really. The Penguins just gave them the 4 points without even suiting up...well, this way actually pretty close to the first half of Saturday's game.

And if they were more consistent and in the running for their division, he'd be getting more votes. The problem is they'll look like world beaters for 10 days then look like bottom feeders for 6.

Agreed..
Im glad the other team wasn't on the ice when the Flyers scored any of their 8 goals.
