come on guys we really should have lost, obviously the flyers should have been on the PP all game, they only got 6 powerplays

that no goal call was the worst in HISTORY

The refs were pretty bad tonight.

there were times where i was wondering what they were doing

but the flyers have no one to blame but their inability to score on the PP as they are scary on the PP

i am shocked the devils apparently have a top 15 PP because it feels like its a mess 1/2 the time

Some really terrible calls tonight, but a big win. And the amount of salt over in the flyers thread is massive

Today's line: 2 softies by Brodeur

I'm going over, I think he'll give up 3 tonight.

“players would like to see more interference allowed to slow game down. REMOVAL of trapezoid to relieve pressure on D-men...” NO KIDDING!!!! It's all.. coincidence.

Greene - 22:56
Volchenkov - 20:53
Salvador - 20:19

insane. Nice to see them give Ryder and Brunner some time on the pine.. especially Ryder. 12 and 10 minutes to each of them, with the minutes going to Henrique! and Zajac- with about 22 minutes each.

cry about Marty and Schneider for yet another day. I'm selling my soul to whoever starts on the given night. Both goalies can win games, softies included. Go Devils!

brodeur was pushed by hartnell on the ice which let the puck go in

flyers say should have counted incidental contact, refs see hartnell going into brodeur no goal

Flyers typical score 1-2 goals with those PP chances they had tonight

0 for 6 is the story of the game

just saying... in response to the "we need to get Corey in a rhythm" reason behind him starting every game- he put up incredible numbers being Luongo's backup. He's used to not playing every game. He got those ridiculous stats.. not starting most games.
Marty, on the other hand, has always been better when playing consistently. Let's not get the 2 confused.

YES, Schneider is the better goalie. No, we don't need to play him to get him in a rhythm..

There is a difference in roughly .5 goals a game between the two goalies. He needs to play simply by being the better goalie.

Basically as good of a night as we can ask for on the out of town scoreboard. No 3 point games and most east teams lost.

huge 2 point gain on these teams. every win and loss for about 5 teams is just massive.

Not to be pessimistic, but I see this Florida game as a trap game. Crappy team, possible chance to move up to 8th, etc.

I felt the same way when looking at the schedule. Gotta hope the vets don't take the night off and the kids don't think it'll be "easy". Lead the team with experience, and energy. MUST WIN mentality for each and every game.

All of this seems like a great endorsement of Corsi. The great players have great corsi. There are other stats that you can use to see how easy their minutes are (quality of competition, offensive zone starts) and how much they influence/are influenced by their teammates, which the previous link I gave you shows. I don't know if you're expecting this to be exact, but its statistically a good indicator of success.

My apologies, just saw it as a spreadsheet set up. Didn't see the individual player links at the top of the page. No stat can be exact. I do think breaking it down into individual players and pairs is a more efficient use of the stat than a general team percentage or player percentage.

The more specific and direct it becomes the more it can eliminate some of those outliers and variables.

isn't every game a trap game? As in we just trap and hope to win 1-0.

Marty wins Cory doesn't. Idk why but it keeps happening like this. Winning is all that matters Cory's stats suck to me because he has only 11 wins. Sure its not really Cory's fault he doesn't win but at some point if he is such a better goalie he should start winning games.

I think we gotta win both this weekend. Can't keep (frank)ing up every time we're close to 8th.
