Very strange. You think they wanted to bench Rinaldo without making it public?
- PhillySportsGuy

I don't know. I'd say no -- would be easier to say "flu" if that was the case -- but the chain of information here was weird.

Hockey's future writeup:

Kempe is a playmaking forward with both physical and technical weapons that he uses on both offense and defense. Not only is he a great passer and puckhandler, but his shot is also fairly lethal and a nightmare for most goaltenders. Kempe is in a good position most of the time and is effective during a penalty kill. On the other side, he should work on his skating and discipline as he is prone to taking too many unnecessary penalties.

Sounds like A flyer type player to me.

Work on discipline, yes. Skating is very good from what I've seen.

I think there's less public ways of doing so than the he-said she-said game they just played.
- steelydan

I think the communication may have been off between them.

It just seems strange to call a guy up as an 'extra' only to use him in place of a guy who leaves with a mysterious injury.

No longer have his rights. Believe he was drafted in 2007.

From ESPN, on Alex Chiasson -

Chiasson was shaken up after teammate Rich Peverley collapsed during a game on Monday, and was taken to a hospital and later released, according to the Dallas Morning News. He will not join the team on the road trip.

Damn. Bill, do you have any info on this? Anxiety maybe?

I heard that too. I think it was more precautionary. The team had to leave right after the game so they just kept him home.

Flyers will need to lose quite a few games down the stretch to be in position to land him.

They'd have to miss the PO's to make that happen, no?

I don't know. Possibly. I'm in Philly and have been at arena since the morning skates without chance yet to catch up on what's going on with Dallas today.

I believe gives him close to 30 points in his last 10 games.

That's a shame. I'd like to think I would have handed him directly to his family rather than let him drive off to his death. Easy to say, tougher to do, especially with a grown man.

RIP man...

Tonight could be the last time we ever have to play against Marty Brodeur.

If you'd like to make argument explaining why Vinny hasn't played poorly this year, I'd love to hear it
- PhillySportsGuy

I never disputed that Lecavalier hasn't had a good year overall. All I've said is that his back injury and moving to a new position are big factors in how he has played overall this Season. Lecavalier didn't all of sudden turn into a lousy player. At least I don't believe that he did.

Think there's an outside chance that Ehlers could end up being in the coversation for top-3 pick?

So if he never plays well for the Flyers, will it be a bad signing or just bad luck because the back injury?
