So Ek, why didn't you mention that the Leafs were tied for 3rd with LA at 7%. Why not just say St. Louis, Chicago and Toronto. I think the Leafs have as much of a chance as the so called mighty Kings. I think if the final came down to LA & Toronto it would be Leafs in 6.

Ek, re: Garth Snow. No, there wasn't a strong market for Vanek at the deadline, but you can't let him off the hook for that. It was his fault he was forced to move Vanek in the first place! He pulled the idiotic trigger on trading way too much for a player who made it very clear he was interested in signing with Minnesota as a UFA. Did Garth expect the charm of Long Island and/or the Hockey Club itself to change Mr. Vanek's mind?

It was a ridiculous trade that didn't need to be made, and unfortunately NYI Islanders fans have to pay for it. Poor Snow indeed.

And to top it off the Islanders were actually winning before trading for Vanek, I think this a real case of team chemistry getting swindled.

The reason no one voted for San Jose is because year after year they suck in the postseason yet they refuse to change their roster. Guarentee they do the exact same thing this year.

Blues scored 10 goals in 6 games against the Kings in their PO loss last year, including that ridiculous OT winner in game 1. they scored 6 against the Kings in a 4-game loss the year before. Miller was an upgrade in net for sure but i don't see where the Blues addressed their biggest playoff need: putting pucks in the net.
- DoubleDown

I understand that the regular season does not equal the playoffs. However, St. Louis is the second highest scoring team. So, right now they are definitely putting pucks into the net.

They also have the greatest goal differential. That will only increase with Miller in net.

(frank) the ducks and the blues, the blackhawks are ready for world domination
- Flyfreaky

Certainly didn't look like world domination against the Sabres last night...that game could have gone either way, against the last placed team.

Yeah I had the Blues penciled in as very strong contenders before they landed Miller.
