Reportedly kicked in goals were briefly discussed at the Board of Governors meeting today with the possibility of being more liberal brought up. Hopefully, they can gain a consensus when they convene later in the week.

About freaking time. It is probably the most maddening call, in the sense that it could be a goal one day and not the next. They have to have some concrete (no interpretation needed) rule for this.
I think anything kicked in or deflected off the skate outside the crease should count, and anything inside the crease should be waved off.

One GM suposedly said that he was unclear what is and isn't a goal, so he understand why fans are frustrated

Jan I totally agree. I don't think anyone can say with certainty what actually counts. I just know it seems a higher percentage against us have been allowed to count, but when we do it it is waived off. And as you have shown in video on previous blogs, its almost identical plays.

I think they need to change the rule to make it more clear, but I don't think they want players in the crease kicking their skates like madmen trying to get it in with the goalie lying on the ice, little dangerous

I had made it known that I wasn't a fan of the Rangers hiring AV . Couldn't stand him with the Canucks and I think I said I dislike Torts but disliked AV more . I like they way the Rangers are playing now and have since the first month of the season . I'm starting to think maybe it was just the Canucks I dislike because I'm liking AV now . I was wrong like I have been many a time before and probably will a few more times .

Simple, player lifts skate off the ice, no goal. Redirecting puck, as long as the skate remains on the ice, is a goal.

Something bad just happened in Dallas-Jackets game. Just tuned in and the players were all on a knee and announcers weren't saying anything. Seems like something happened to a player on the bench.

I just turned it on the Stars feed. No one is saying anything and no one is on the ice?

I have a real bad feeling about this. Seems like it may involve Rich Peverly.

It's scary, PA announcer said he was taken to the hospital. He apparently collapsed on the bench.

My friend just told me he wasnt recently diagnosed with an irregular heart beat. I dont want to speculate but god i hope its nothing to do with that.

I am not convinced of that. For as bad as a year as Derek Stepan is having, he has 5 less points that Eric Staal (and he makes $5 million less). Jordan Staal's point totals are embarrasing low for his salary, way lower than Richards (who doesn't make much more than Jordan). I think this may be one of those instances where we view the grass being greener on the otherside of the fence.

E staal is having a waaay down year - guy has always been
A serious force; I will assume he gets back to that level. J is prob
Overpaid but is also valuable. Hafta say they are a good bit better than what
We have based on every year. It this one. Eric would rock as a #1 center -fugettaboutit.

As pointed out by others sounds a lot like what happened to Jiri Fischer. Unfortunately for Rangers fans, reminiscent of Alexei Cherepanov, but in that case, there was no defibrillator, which proved to be fatal.
