"Wow, we are getting Vanek?? Cool!! I sure hope Therrien makes him play with Plekanec, that guy has been playing with poopty wingers for years and he deserves better!"
"WTF? Therrien is playing Vanek with Plekanec, our shutdown center? Fire Therrien!!!" - stinger67

so then, you agree that Vanek should be playing on a defensive line against the opposition's top forwards? - DoubleDown
nope, what I'm saying is that some people here wanted him to play with Plekanec, and now that it isn't working, they female dog about it.
He certainly can't put him with Desharnais, because as we all now it, he sucks and he's only a french token on this team. Plus, it's already enough that Pacioretty needs to carry his ass around, no need for Vanek to get that burden as well. |

Still beating the dead horse.
Plekanec's offensive production has been inexistant since the begin of january. He is great as a shutdown center but generates very little offense even with a 30 goals scorer on his side. |

So you expect by placing vanek with the only other scorer on this team that this line will score 3 goals a game now ?

He generates nothing because he has Gionta on the RW and 7 other bottom 6 wingers on the LW.

Je suis juste plus capable de voir Ti-Bras pis ses lancers de la ligne bleue, en entrant dans la zone, qui pognent même pas le net. |

I'm sorry Alex, but the bolded is just ridiculous. Nobody said anything about Desharnais being any kind of problem in this case and for sure nobody mentioned that he's French. |

i expect Vanek to be an upgrade over Brendan Gallagher, yes. and i also expect Gallagher to upgrade whatever line he moves to, as so far in his career that's been the case. you can argue your case for the status quo, but i don't see much evidence in the past 3 games that Therrien is getting the most out of Vanek. |

Habs go on a 3 game winning streak and all is good in Montreal.

no he generates nothing because he plays against the David Krejci line or the Jason Spezza line or the Sidney Crosby line. you're not going to drive offence against those lines no matter who your wingers are. you're going to focus on keeping them out of your zone first and then pushing the puck up the ice second. |
