But tell me, should I pay my share of the debt (50%) if I don't get my share of the assets?

Still think of Woody as a bartender serving Cliffy and Norm beers.

There are many smaller countries.
- Jean_Perron

There certainly are.
At the end of the day I hope you get your wish and become your own country.
Do I believe it can survive economically? Maybe. The taxes will likely become a huge burden on the population and businesses. Yes worst than it is now. But at the end of the day everyone will speak French so a small price to pay I guess.

That's arguable. There are lots of services doubled due to the two government levels that could be saved through sovereignty.

I have no doubt you would argue about it but 9/10 economists would agree it would be the case.

I don't want to do in specifics, but you can consider the 25% we are currently giving the federal government would go to the Quebec government, and we would realize an economy of scale by not having to fund duplicate departments.

you would also lose international leverage and buying/negotiating power afforded by being part of Canada.

While there is some truth to this statement, there is far more to consider than just the duplication of services
