I thought G-NN had a tough game.
The first TO goal he was backing in too much.

Grossmann wasn't on the ice for the first Toronto goal.

Did you watch the HNIC broadcast?
They said Kimmo didn't return the Flyers initial calls last summer so the Flyers kept upping their offer to him.

Not sure where they were getting that, but I thought it was interesting.

- Marc D

Not sure if thats true. He seems to have a good relationship with the organization.

I call BS on that. Negotiations like that are normally handled through an agent, not directly with the player.

The entire team had a rough go in the first. They played much better over the last forty minutes. I'm happy they got a point after that first twenty minutes. Could have easily been 4-0. They were outplayed, outworked and outsmarted.
- Jsaquella

Leafs out skated and out worked them in the first.

TO looked great at the start. I give them credit.
Flyers had a nice pushback to tie it.
I don't have a lot of confidence in the OT.
on 4v4 they have some work to do.

I didn't hear the comment, but I'm sure they meant the agent, not the player.

They were getting nowhere, because Timonen was signed well before he hit free agency. The summer prior to last was filled with doubt because of the impending lockout, and Timonen signed soon after the shortened season started.

It was a bunch of errors that led to that happening, so while Grossmann failed to make the fundamentally smart play, there were a lot of breakdowns prior to that situation that led to the goal.

It's concerning because this is the second game in a row where a 4 on 4 breakdown ended up in the net.

The Leafs came out geeked up and just grinded away. The Flyers, from Mason on out, seemed to be lacking focus and just couldn't get going. But they were resilient and got themselves a point.

Maybe it the Kadri goal. Thought he was backing up and sort of caught in between.

Yeah the first goal, Mason couldn't freeze a rebound, then there was a giveaway on the scramble( I think by MacDonald), and he ended up getting screened by either Rinaldo or Luke Schenn or both.

Yep, the team breakdown animal roared it's ugly head along with a slow start. Gave the Leafs far too much skating room and ice in the first period and the beginning of the 2nd. After that, the Flyers were the better team I thought.

Still can't believe that puck made it through the maze in front there.

The Flyers were the better team for most of the final 40 minutes. They deserved a better fate, but managed to grab a point at least

It was only the 3rd 4 on 4 goal against that the Flyers have given up all year. Which is among the best in the League. Picked a bad time to give one up.

Yup.
They are still young at key spots and there are going to be breakdowns.
Overall I think they are improving which is the main thing.
Leafs are pretty speedy and the Flyers kept up after the first.

It is hard watching JVR for me. I don't have a problem with the trade, but I would have liked to watch his development as a Flyer.
He is turning into a fine power forward.

Wow, did anyone see Kari Lehtonen get get slammed into ?
Cut over the eye , helmet comes off and hits his bear head on the crossbar.
The guy got a 5 + game for charge .

Always like JVR, and I was excited to see him grow as a Flyer. He had a good first period but after that, didn't do much. He's a real good player and I'm not surprised that he's doing well. He's going to be unhappy when the Flyers win the Cup in the near future.

Kimmo was already re-signed by then -- signed the one-year extension not too long after the lockout ended.

That was a gap-control goal. The Leafs had way too much speed coming through the NZ. The only option for the two defensemen was to back in. Even then, there was no backchecking support.

That is who Berube had on the ice in the middle of 4 on 4 OT.

didnt like the coaches combos in OT. I fell if he had kept the foot on the gas pedal going Giroux and Vorchek every 2nd shift he would have scored. None the less a good battle back to get a point but a win should have been for the flyers. Mason was shaky at time s but very good too. I think it could have been nerves being on Hockey Night in Canada, shouldnt be but a read articles all the time about players being nerves for HOC
