Snow said the Habs offer was the best and that he was fortunate to get that good of an offer. That shows several teams aren't interested in paying a premium for rentals. Homer never does. THey have every intention of signing MacDonald long term.

This team isn't a LW away from the Cup. If they win, it will be because their defense really steps up, Mason plays incredible and Giroux gets really hot. It won't be because Vanek or Moulson carry them.

- PhillySportsGuy

I agree, not saying that they wouldnt be nice pieces for a cup run, but in a cap world draft picks and prospects mean a lot more. I think now a days teams who are the sellers are really at a disadvantage cause teams arent willing to give up these assets as easily anymore...which is why what Yzerman got back for St.Louis was incredible

Well said.

As a side not, Giroux qualifies now as really hot. Basically a 2 point per game player over the past 10... 7th place overall in scoring and 64 points in 63 games..

Almost every other guy in the top-10 has a co-superstar to play with, too. Closest thing G has is Voracek.

Per Pierre LeBrun: “The 2nd-rounder in 2014 to Tampa becomes a 1st if the Rangers get to conference final; if Callahan re-signs in Tampa then the Rangers get Tampa’s 2nd in 2015 and Tampa gets Rangers 7th in 2015.”

Yeah for interests of the Flyers, If we dont make the conference finals it would be beneficial if it was Bruins/Rangers...based upon long term damage to Rags and helping Flyers with Mez pick

They're back in LTIR, though... leaves them susceptible to bonus overages again.

Right now.... If you had to take an educated guess at the Flyers # 1 dman next year, who do you think it will be?

Unless Ghost can be a turnkey top-4 guy, he's not going to have a chance in this organization. Simple as that.

Do you foresee them having the patience to watch him get 'out-muscled' by Malkin/Nash/Tavares/OV for any length of time? I don't.

- Tomahawk

that article you (i think it was you) posted about him yesterday (i think it was yesterday) has one opposition coach state that ghost is the best player in the country and further stated he is surprisingly strong on the puck despite his size
