I seem to recall Handzus or all people got one last year (in the playoff?)...ended up as offsetting minors.

Not that I can think of, but certainly have seen Shaw, Kane and Rozy ham it up on occasion. Very glad those instances are the exception and not the rule.

So, the Hawks didn't make a splash at the TDL. This can impact a team a couple ways - on one hand they could feel like "the front office thinks we're good" and get a little jump; and on the other they could feel like "don't these idiots realize we need help?" and slump a bit. So far, it looks like the players feel the former.

Gotta admit, not sure I felt Shaw deserved a look on the top line for his recent string of play. But BIG PROPS to him and Saad for stepping up to the damn plate and grabbing the opportunity by the nuts. Would love to see this continue for a few games while Hoss is taking a break.
