Lidstrom's getting his number retired tonight...

That guy still gives me nightmares. He could lace 'em up tonight and still be better than the Wings entire d-corps

The newbie better start forming opinions on such hot topics as:

Who should be traded/waived after a loss...

Who should be traded just cuz...

Everything about Michael Handzus

Corey Crawford as an NHL goalie

Can Brookbank really do everything?

Over/under-valuing prospects

Red ass (or lack thereof) / snarkiness

The power play

Chicago cuisine

Cameron Diaz, yes or no?

Ryan Kesler (or other newest 2C filler)

When the Avs/Ducks luck will run out

Whether there's a brain in Barrett Jackmans head

Etc. Etc.

Especially since most advocating this have never seen Rundblad PLAY. I have no idea whether he can replace Brookbank at this point. If I have seen him play, I don't recall.
- Elbows15

Pondering.

Rundblad in Ottawa where Karlsson is the offensive generator. Runblad in Phoenix where Eckman Larson is the man (and Stone has a nice shot when he plays). In Chicago the blue line crew revolves around #1 D Keith. So why was Rundblad deemed expendable previously but perhaps will call Chicago home? Just asking. I notice elbows has not always supported the rise of youngsters, eg TT. Elbow in here and tell us if you see Rundblad as another young one with deficiencies....or could both TT and Rundblad fit in here or elsewhere in the league by favor of their strength which is good enough to cover their inadequacies.

Edit: additional thought. Two playoff opponents could be Avalanche and Coyotes. Both have a young dman still a tad on the periphery from nailing down a berth on blue line. But both Barrie (twice) and Stone shots beat us three times this season. In some ways might a Leddy or Rundblad be a difference maker.....because their poop, their speed, their ability even spot play wins games! Leddy and Rundblad together: hmmm.

Jackets and Bob tonight...last we saw him he was getting beaten like a drum by Oshie in the shootout in Sochi. The Jackets are another physical checking team...

Hawks need the points tonight...

Meanwhile a move for Kesler would be interesting. I thought he played pretty well in Sochi...monster at the dot and was impressed how he went down to block shots. And if Kane wants him here who can blame him. I think Kaner wants to be putting up those big numbers every year and he can't with Zeus. We've seen the same problem with Hossa when he's been on the 2nd line for some time the last couple of seasons and the musical chairs that position has been...get him a play making center and he even can be that much better.

However including both Shaw and Leddy I think is a little steep for a guy who's had some health issues. I'd rather hang onto Shaw. I'm sure McD still has the Ryan Suter thing in the back of his mind and Leddy's agent.

The TT conundrum could he would he is he a great player? We don't know yet he's still in Europe. The early returns look good...but you never know. The goal is to win right now not tomorrow not next year but now. Is Kesler a proven commodity at this point - yes and TT is not yet.

Meanwhile its the Blue Jackets and the Hawks tonight.

My point 59 is I have never seen him play. I have no opinion on him at all. I just found it funny that he was anointed by some as a replacement to anyone on D. And have asked what they saw that indicated this.

My concerns about TT revolve about his lack of size. He is small. Very small. And never playing the game on North American ice is tremendously different. To think he is going to come over and set the world on fire is a stretch to me. Can he make it? Maybe. Even in the games I have seen him play he tends to stay away from the boards. I even said he has talent. The question is. Will it translate?

Edit: I asked not to be an ass. I was asking what they saw in the player out of curiosity.

In Bears news, I was happy they didn't tie up a bunch of money to keep Hester.

And of course, Urlacher is whining about loyalty to the media again

Paying him a lot of money to be a 5-6 plays a game guy isn't loyalty?

I know. That is basically what they paid Hester to do PRD. Is it the Bears' fault he isn't bright enough to figure out how to run 5 pass patterns to make himself more useful?
And he has been in decline at the one thing he was great at for about 3 seasons.
