Sure, but the point isn't how likely it would be. The question is, would either team do it?

Um..... Do you wanna re-think this?

But it all ties in. Teams aren't usually likely to do it because those are the players you build your team around. If a team offered a guy like that, sure you'd have willing trade partners. Because it tends not to happen.

Enroth is not a starting goalie.

He seems to be doing a pretty good job on a pretty bad team at the moment.

His save percentage over the last few games has been really good, but I think its only a matter of time before opposing teams figure out that he's leaving ALL KINDS of huge rebounds all over the place. Before long, they won't be focusing so much on sniping as on just getting pucks on net and following them into the crease to pcik up the loose change. (sorry to "go garth" on you all.)

Well, we get to see Neuvirth tonight. It'll be interesting how this whole goaltending situation works itself out.

Enroth is doing his best Hasek Impersonation

Hasek used to play at the blue line and he was fine.

rebounds are his biggest Achilles heel.. he also is fairly weak on anything high.. he seems to have finally closed the five hole issue up though.

i said something about him playing erratic like hasek last night. he seems to be all over the place and lost 90% of the time.. but still keeps the puck out of the net.

The last 4 games, Enroth has faced an average of more shots per game than Miller did over the course of the season. The team is 3-1 (with less talent on the team for 2 of those games - minus Ott and Moulson).

Enroth also has a 2.50 GAA over these 4 games - less than Miller's season numbers here.

Enroth has been excellent. I think for his sake he needed Miller gone.

That being said, I want to see how he does playing 14 of the next 20 or so

It's actually strange to see him all over like that. He's usually pretty particular about his movements and stuff. That shows me that he was playing out of his comfort zone last night, and was still successful.

While he's not an elite goaltender, I think he's a serviceable one. He's not going to steal you as many games as someone like Miller might, but he's not going to kill you on a nightly basis either.

He also seems the thrive on extra pressure which is actually the opposite of Miller in most instances.

They can't build around him because they are the Islanders. They've been trying to build around him for years. Can't draft, can't attract free agents. Once again, I'm not saying that they would or even should. I think there is a case for both teams to either make or not make the trade and that is what is interesting.

But this actually drifts into stuff that you do see all of the time in sports. A struggling franchise trades its top asset in order to get a lot of future assets. The haul for the Islanders would be enourmous.

thinking back over his time here i seem to remember him playing about a dozen games like that.. and they were either great games or total flops when like that.

I agree he seems to be better when he has that kind of weight on him.. I hope he keeps it up because he seems to be a good guy that the players like and could be a solid backup or 50/50 split goalie for the rebuild

I think he'll be better as a guy in more of a 50/50 split. But the more regularly he gets in there, the better he plays. I think he's a serviceable guy they can use for the next few years. With the increased playing time, he may actually be able to work on some of his weak spots to and learn how to reduce the risk of being scored on in those areas.
