I'd rather magically appear, wave a stick and kill the person, and then magically disappear.

honestly man it was stupid to have a question about weaponry and then out of nowhere bring magic into the mix with choice C.

Sure he can. He came up with the anti-serum to the poison in the first movie (chemical), dealt with trying to shut down the nuclear containment device in the last movie (nuclear), and designed the suit for Batman in the second movie (materials/mechancal).
- jmatchett383

You may need to rewatch or at least look it up. All he does is provide those things from the R&D division. He doesn't actually do anything. Yeah, he does try to shut down the reactor and I'm not saying he's an idiot, he has to know something to be demoted to the head of the R&D division but he didn't design anything.

I'm interested in hearing more about this non-fictional Tony Stark.

I wish I had billions of dollars. I would buy the Devils, trade all of their picks for 50 years to the Flyers for Rosehill (and a 2nd), trade every roster player for AHL players, and then fold the team.
- jmatchett383

Now THAT is what I want to see happen to those a-holes!

In an Elvis costume and in a puff of purple smoke? 'Cause that would be cool.

So when he talks about the antidote that he made (he says "I" many times), he didn't do it, someone else did, on the fly, just for fun? He had someone else make a new Batman suit, just for fun, and that person never questioned why it was being made?

Edit: He only says it once:
"I analyzed your blood, isolating the receptor compounds and the protein-based catalyst. "

I'm not sure you'd get league approval for that. Rosehill is a generational talent.

Well, you have to make a choice. Do you want to use a missile fired from 50 miles away that may or may not hit its mark, or get closer and be able to get in and out (with the possibility of being killed on sight)?

It's a comic book movie and you're questioning the logic? You think one dude did all that crap completely by himself. He built the Batwing in his garage in his free time? The roller? He put together the sonar device all by himself? Noone in researh and development at that giant conglomerate lifted a finger? He even says the Batsuit was a failed design for the military.

That's what should happen, and we wouldn't be the only ones who need it -- Marc Savard's never playing again for Boston, and Tampa's had Mattias Ohlund on it for two years now, as well.

It's a ridiculous rule -- these guys aren't capable of playing. Making teams put them on LTIR so they can collect their salaries is ridiculous -- they are never coming back.

- AllInForFlyers

I has far more to do then just allowing the player to collect his salary.

They're 2 comic book movies and a series of kids' books. So, yes, much like Tony Stark is able to build a bullet-proof suit that can be insulated while having a flame-thrower and can fly while living in a a cave (not to mentioned miniaturizing something that powers his heart in a size the world's top engineers can't duplicate), you have to be able to suspend disbelief. So, yes, he did all of those things. You're the one questioning the logic. I'm just suspending disbelief that he is the best chemical/materials/mechanical engineer on the planet.

Just wanted to discuss something besides the NHL giving a handy to the Devils.

That may be the case. However, they were, and the NHL shouldn't be allowed to just change their rulings on a whim.

03/04/14 11 AM: Dmitri Orlov has been suspended 2 games.
03/05/14 5 PM: Meh, nah, he can play.

I understand that point. But the whole thing was just stupidity on the NHL's part. Bite off your nose to spite your face.

I don't disagree, but to assess and revoke a punishment like that is frustrating. If I'm Vancouver, I expect the league should be so forgiving when Luongo retires and earns them a cap recapture penalty.

I'm not so much questioning the logic as pointing out that that's not how it happened in the movie that you should watch again.

Again, not disagreeing. But once they make a ruling, they should have to stand by it. As of now, they can arbitrarily change any of their rulings on any topic not expressly spelled out in the CBA.

How exactly did it happen? What team of people built the batman suit, but then never questioned why they were building one (the original was a prototype from years before, so no one would recognize it, especially when spraypainted)? Wouldn't they be curious as to why they were following a schematic of a Batman suit and building one?

I don't think the movie ever said there was a team of engineers. In fact, I think the movies makes it seem like he does it himself (especially the anti-serum he claims he makes).
