John Erskine is ailing and won't play tonight. Cameron Schilling is en route from Hershey and is expected to play tonight in Boston. #Caps

Lol, looks like Vinny (frank)ed him up good.

That was a pretty good shot he took, wasn't it?

I give Tom Wilson credit for coming back last night, because Luke Schenn caught him flush and Schenn's a big, big boy

Also, first Matrix is amazing. The other two were ok, but kind of tainted the first one.

Man, is there a more satisfying sound than a Luke Schenn check into the boards? It's like a quick, clean, deep crunch followed by a mess of flailing limbs. Pure beauty.

I was a huge fan at first, but it's hard to watch now... hasn't aged well... maybe because it was so roundly ripped off.

Swallows players up. I love seeing the aggressive and mean Luke Schenn. Hate seeing the passive Luke Schenn that floats around.

I think it's aged well, but I've just seen it too many times to get the same impact each time. Still, I remember the feeling of seeing it in the theaters and having my mind blown. The end left you with so many possibilities. If they never made the last two, I think people would remember it more fondly.

Just thinking about last night's game a bit this afternoon...

You know, if Schenn can play like that the rest of the season...if the secondary scoring we've been getting for a couple of months now holds up...if MacDonald can help with puck retrieval and if a pairing of MacDonald/Schenn could take a few more minutes from Grossmann/Streit and be effective in doing so...if Steve Mason gives them above league average goaltending...

Why not us, in the East? Why not?

Raffl could move up in the lineup in case of certain injuries; they don't have a ton of depth, but if the wrong guys get hurt, it won't matter anyway.

But if they find a way to clean up some of those penalties...why not us, in the East?

They're like a different defense when Schenn plays like that. MacDonald was able to get to a few pucks and move them to the right places that Meszaros -- who, to his credit, did turn his season around -- wouldn't have gotten to with the time to spare to make those plays.

That defense looks different when Schenn is a physical force. He moves the puck...adequately. He has just enough hockey sense. Not an amazing amount, but enough.

But the man is a horse. He is an absolute horse. If he and MacDonald could just combine to play 18-ish good, hard minutes, instead of the 15:30 Schenn's been spotted for...

Man. They look different. They were killing Washington for the first 40 minutes. They were KILLING them.

Is that the movie where Kevin Costner is playing Liam Neeson?
