It's inevitable that with all these ridiculously long deals that Pronger and Savard are only the beginning. It would be in everybody's interest to put in a mechanism that takes care of the problem so all sides can move on:

- player is taken care of, can retire,
- team can move on cap-wise,
- league still ensures 50/50 split.

I agree with Chief in his assessment that the refs were unjustified in several of their penalty calls against us. I think it was, in part, due to it being a hyped up nationally televised game and not wanting it to be a blowout, but those bad calls made a comfortable win a nail-biter. I do also blame the flyers for taking their foot off the pedal, that shouldn't happen and may have been the reason the refs chose to make calls against us. Still, a good win and an important one, at the end of the day the two points and denying the capitals points is what is paramount. Credit the Capitals for coming back to make a game of it and what a game by Giroux.
