I missed the first two periods yesterday. How did everyone feel A Mac played?

I think he looked like an upgrade over Mez.

Definitely an upgrade. You missed two very good periods by the Flyers and watched one really bad one.
- PhillySportsGuy

I know. It was pretty depressing. I checked the boxscore, saw they were dominating the caps so I rushed home for the 3rd and then I had to sit through that.

Ill take it. From what I saw he seemed decent enough. Was he paired with Streit or L.Schenn last night?

They struggle when playing with the lead. If the game is within 3 goals going into the third, it is always interesting. Flyers are either coming back or blowing a lead. It's incredible.

Schenn on 5v5 Streit on 2nd PP unit.

He did several nice things. He will, definitely, help on breakouts. There was one particular play where two caps were bearing down on him. He made a nice little move, a quick pass and out they went.

He will really benefit from playing fewer minutes and against lesser competition.

Girouxs ppg since December is 1.243. Thats 101 pts over an 82 game season. If he continues this pace he'll hit 86-87 pts, thats amazing considering his "fraud" start.

It really is incredible. I dont think there is a team in the league that does it to the same extent as us. I just cannot comprehend why they cannot hold a lead. Its a basic part of the game that they just cannot figure out. I will say I do enjoy the comebacks.

If they let this game last night get tied up and go to OT and even if they won I would have freaked out. No excuse for that.

I was kinda glad to see Berube call a timeout when they got to within a goal.

He's clearly not Laviolette, with respect to utilizing his timeouts IMO.

Lets get this going...where is MJL? Vinny is an awful signing. Grossmann is a 6/7th defenseman. Luke Schenn is a bust. Salary Cap.

I agree. He looks like a solid pick up. He makes the chemistry of our defense better.

I thought it was perfect timing too. The game was out of hand and he calmed them down with it.

I know. I wasn't that upset with the PP goals against. They are a great PP. I hated the 4v4 goal. That is on Giroux or Timonen. I hated the unnecessary penalties by Downie and Rinaldo resulting in a PP and 4v4 situation.

Washington is good at two things: Shootouts and the Power play. Without those two things, they'd be one of the worst teams in the division.

There have been way too many times where Berube needs to try and kick start them. Mason has been pulled quite a bit over the last few months. Most of the time none of the goals against are his fault.

He's not going to save a lot of deflections, cross ice passes to Ovechkin or net front one times. The team needs to do a better job on coverages and neutralizing sticks.

He adds mobility and offensive skill without taking away from the defense.

I liked his set up of Luke Schenn's one-timer that resulted in the goal. All in one motion, he settled a rolling puck and fed it to Schenn right in the wheelhouse. It may look like a simple play, but most Flyers defenseman can't make it. They aren't the best at teeing up one-timers for other guys.

Agreed. That was a really impressive pass by Backstrom. The guy has superb vision for playmaking on the ice. And of course if you give a puck like that to OV off the faceoff circle he is going to bury it all day.

The 4v4 was really bad. I knew it would be going in. We just arent a good 4v4 team. I beleive it was Timonen should have slid over to get his guy.

The lack of discipline is infuriating but that is what you have to deal with when you watch the flyers. What did you think of the 1st period brawl? I saw the replay but it did not really put it in the context. And what was the penalty called of Streit? I dont think the announcers ever said anything.[/img]

Exactly. Mobility is really what we need with our blueline.

I dont think I saw that. That is impressive.

What do you guys think the addition of A Mac means for Gusty in the offseason? Are we going to dump him somewhere? The organization does not seem enamored with him

I think he's depth right now and I wouldn't be surprised to see him traded or in the KHL next year.

I'd really like to see hartnell catch fire, not actually just score goals in bunches.
