That's true as well. However, the team hasn't really been in contention in December since the secondary market has become so accessible, so I'm not sure that's a fair comparison.

It's all about supply and demand, though. If the team is good, demand goes up, which means so do the prices in the secondary market.

IMO they are going to be terrible next yr too and there's no way they lose the chance at McDavid. They won't be using their 1st this year.

I am one of the biggest hockey fans around, but I can tell you if the Bills are on a playoff run, no one will really care about the Sabres until after the Bills season is over. Trust me, I have seen it. The Sabres are Buffalo's second team and that will never change. Football is by far the best sport in all aspects tv etc. but on your point yes it appears that people would only focus on the Bills if in a playoff push but its one day so when you have the sabres playing 3 games a week the interst level is spread out where the Bills play SUnday the one day they play a week. For the Sabres there is always a game tomorrow or the day after etc.

I doubt Stewart is going to use the fact that the worst team in the league traded him just a few days after acquiring him as bulletin board material. I just don't see it.
